I'm not sure if it is fleas, dust mites or something else. My vet doesn't know either. I need to find something that kills, not just repels, insects but is safe for use around cats. Most bug sprays have pyrethroids which are toxic to cats. None of the natural stuff works. I tried them all. Does anyone know of a hard core bug spray that is safe for cats but not safe for bugs?

My go-to product for anything insect, bug and parasite related is food grade Diatomaceous Earth.

I tried DE and lots of other natural remedies. With DE, I covered every square centimeter of the carpets and floors after vacuuming and sweeping OCD style. It didn't work. Maybe it's because DE only works adult insects, but not eggs, larvae and pupae? I haven't had any success with the natural stuff. I've spent at least $500 and massive amounts of time trying various things. This is why I need to find something stronger that kills bugs but won't hurt my kitties.

If anyone knows of something that kills all stages of bugs but doesn't hurt cats, PLEASE let me know.

No success if you vacuum right away.
I let it sit for a day.
I also go around the perimeter of house, around door and window frames and around the property line.
It does work, but you do have to let it work, and use it diligently.

I do caution though that since it is a very fine powder, I would not advise breathing it.
I'd also do the initial vacuuming with a shop vac.

For me I used it every 4 days or so until the problem is gone, and once a month thereafter.
