Missing collar

The other day I noticed Angel's collar, with i.d. tag, was missing. She is strictly an indoor cat so I knew the collar had to be in the house. Searched all over and couldn't find it. My husband (Mr. No Patience) just said to buy a new collar & tag, but I knew it had to be someplace. I decided to think like a cat and explored all her favorite places. Finally - I looked at the door mat and picked it up and there was the collar. She likes to sit on the mat near the front door, and I know that many times she and the other 2 have their arguments there and a battle starts. I guess the collar fell off and somehow it ended up under the mat. Anyway, Angel is now dressed again!!

That happened to Dorothy too- I probably put their collars on half the time. Not all the time, and most often when I'm going out. It makes sense in my head. She still takes her collar off sometimes, but not as much as she used to in the beginning. One of the first times I put it on her, it got lost. And she's indoors too, so, like you, I knew it had to be somewhere in the house. I looked everywhere. I forget where I eventually found it, but I did buy a new collar in the meantime. Which is fine, because she ended up breaking the safety snap thingy while taking it off not long ago. So I had a spare.

It wouldn't surprise me if Angel or one of the others shoved it under the mat. We have one carpet in the house, and it's amazing what we find "hidden" under its edges.

I've found Monet's collar buried in the litter box. This tells me he hates it, lol. glad you found yours!

I bet the people who bought our last house are finding all sorts of cat collars from the cats loosing theirs..

Lana, I'm glad you found her collar! Angel's such a pretty girl, even if she does like to go collarless every once in a while!

Latest missing item is a gold link bracelet that Paul wears - bought on a cruise years ago. It's probably lost for good -- but do you think Angel took it? I even looked under the mat where I found her collar !

Betcha ten dollars she took it! If you ever find out where she keeps her "treasures", you might find a motherlode!
