Today's going to be rather bittersweet. My buff-colored brothers Boo and Scout are going back to the rescue and up for adoption. I've had them for five weeks and they've come so far, especially Boo. He went from a hissy, spitty little guy who had to be handled with gloves, to total sweetheart who loves being held and cuddled. Scout, who was mostly just shy when he arrived, is now one of the most cuddly kittens ever.
Both are still a little unsure about new people/situations, but will be just fine in the loving care of the volunteers at the rescue until they find their forever home. I could so easily become a foster failure with these little guys.
But, here's the reason why I can't: I'll be coming home from the rescue with two more little fosters - a brother and sister, about 8-9 weeks old. They were trapped at one of our feral colonies on Mon. The little boy, who's just big enough to be fixed, was neutered at our clinic yesterday, and seems pretty accepting of human contact already. The little girl is still too tiny to be fixed and has to be handled with gloves. She's been described as very "spitty." Apparently, spitty kittens have become my speciality.
No idea on what they look like or if they've been named yet. Pictures coming when I get them settled in. I'd be grateful for calming vibes for Boo and Scout as they return to the rescue too. The change in environment will be a little scary at first, but it's the next step on the way to a forever home.
Thanks!
