A bittersweet day

Today's going to be rather bittersweet. My buff-colored brothers Boo and Scout are going back to the rescue and up for adoption. I've had them for five weeks and they've come so far, especially Boo. He went from a hissy, spitty little guy who had to be handled with gloves, to total sweetheart who loves being held and cuddled. Scout, who was mostly just shy when he arrived, is now one of the most cuddly kittens ever.
Both are still a little unsure about new people/situations, but will be just fine in the loving care of the volunteers at the rescue until they find their forever home. I could so easily become a foster failure with these little guys.

But, here's the reason why I can't: I'll be coming home from the rescue with two more little fosters - a brother and sister, about 8-9 weeks old. They were trapped at one of our feral colonies on Mon. The little boy, who's just big enough to be fixed, was neutered at our clinic yesterday, and seems pretty accepting of human contact already. The little girl is still too tiny to be fixed and has to be handled with gloves. She's been described as very "spitty." Apparently, spitty kittens have become my speciality.

No idea on what they look like or if they've been named yet. Pictures coming when I get them settled in. I'd be grateful for calming vibes for Boo and Scout as they return to the rescue too. The change in environment will be a little scary at first, but it's the next step on the way to a forever home.

Thanks!

Exactly what I was thinking! Your specialty is hissy little babies because you can turn them into trusting little love bugs. Bless you.
Have fun with the new babies!

Someone has to be one!

I'm sorry your two sweeties are going away to make room for the new ones coming in.

Yes, and just look what happens to spitty kitties in your care!

Oh Eileen... for those incredibly precious boys, both to settle in comfortably and to find the purrfect home (preferably together LOL).

And for your new foster babies.

Spitty kitty specialist - I love it.

Thanks for the vibes and for making me laugh.
Boo and Scout are settled in at the rescue as of early this evening and my new spitty kitties are here. The little girl is a long-haired calico, so tiny and adorable - a little ball of fluff. Her name's Louisa May (Alcott). The little guy is too cute. He's black, short-haired and named Pablo (Neruda). The rescue has a writer/literary theme going this summer, hence the names.

The little ones are in the playpen now, pretty scared at the moment, so just hanging out with them tonight and leaving them be. Will work on pics once they get settled in a bit.

Thanks again, guys. Love ya!
