I was recently contacted by someone who got my information from King Street Cats (the organization that I recently adopted my FIV+ kitty from), asking for help finding a home for a kitty who's owner is moving and cannot take him with her. They contacted me, because the kitty is FIV positive, and the cat I adopted is also, but I simply cannot take on a second cat right now, so I'm posting this as many places as I can think of in the hopes of helping him find a home. Here is the information on the kitty:

Name: Greybeaux
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Grey
Age: Estimated 2 years
Gender: Male/Neutered

This kitty is FIV positive. What this means is that he needs a home where he will be an indoor only cat. It means that if he does get sick, he will not be able to fight it as easily, and might possibly need special care. However, with proper care and living conditions, most FIV kitties are able to live normally through to old age (when most cats experience failing health anyways).

Although it is usually recommended to house FIV+ cats only with other FIV+ kitties, the main method of transmission is bites, and Greybeaux is not agressive towards other cats. If you do have other non FIV cats, though, it is something you should carefully consider.

I've spoken with Greybeaux's owner, and she says he's living currently with two other cats and has gotten on well with them. When I asked, she said he was a cuddle cat, but would play also. He is still learning to tell the difference between toys and hands, but she said that he is learning fast.

He has had his rabies vaccine and his first round of boosters, and is due for his next Distemper in about a week. His current owner will be happy to take care of the cost of this.

Greybeaux has a facebook, and a
website. He has five days until he needs a new home.

Please, if you are interested in Greybeaux, contact me by PM for his owner's contact information, or for answers to any questions you might have. Thank you for reading!

I'm glad he's so far away because this is way too tempting, but I can't take in another special needs kitty. >__<

Hope he finds a good home.

I really hope you're able to help.

We have an 8th cat because we couldn't find a home for our FIV "foster" kitty. Wouldn't adopt him out for the world now, but.... my heart really goes out to Greybeaux. How tragic his owner can't take him in the move.

Sending vibes to this sweet boy, I hope he can get adopted to a loving family

Although, what about the other cats? Are they being rehomed too, or do they get to move with the owners?
