I'm currently working on the rescue's fall newsletter, including what has become a regular feature - an "interview" with one of hard to adopt kitties. This time it's this lovely lady:

Dora's 12 years old, which has made it a challenge to find her a home. She's also not thrilled with other cats. She's a beauty and knows it!

Anybody have any questions to ask Dora to get me started?
Thanks!

oh my gosh, I cannot believe someone hasn't scooped her up! she is beautiful! maybe there should be a question about why adopting an older kitty is a good idea?

What does Dora most like to talk about? Does she like music, and if so, what kind? Does she prefer windowsill platforms or cat trees? Brushing or combing? What kind of toys does she like?

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the ideas. They'll help me get started. I think the problem is that I don't know Dora as well as the other cats I've interviewed. It was easy to come up with their responses. I put in a call to one of the volunteers who really has a feel for Dora's personality, so hoping her insights will help too.

I
older kitties....there is so much to enjoy and love about them.

Dora is a beautiful girl

Ask how she got such beautiful blue eys....this is the opportunity to play up a "breed" that catches the eye of many adopters.

Ask where her favorite sun spot is....to highlight her peacefulness.

Ask her for 'words of wisdom' that she has garnered after so many years....could be something like "having seen seasons come and go, I understand that the beauty of life is in living with people that love you and cherish you for your spirit".

Ask where her favorite spot in the winter is...in her persons lap, keeping them warm and cozy

Ask where her favorite summer spot is....the windowsill that lets her see the crazy squirrels and birds.

What is her "self-improvement plan" for the new year.....self-improvement "I dont quite understand that concept.

What is her ideal home....to provide the info about living as an only. It is also the perfect time to highlight the calm and peaceful ambiance she brings to the home too.

She could end by saying something like "For 12 years I thought I had my forever home, but that wasn't the case. I'm still waiting for that special home that I hear so many of the youngsters talking about as they leave. My forever may not be as long as a kitten's forever but I can promise you that the love, peace and heart I bring to your home will forever leave your heart changed."

I hope some of that helps.
