Hi--I'm new to the forums! It's been almost a decade since I've had cats, and I know that a lot has changed with regards to diet and care guidelines, so I'm signing up here to learn all I can about how to take care of my new pets. I just adopted two great cats from a local shelter this weekend. I'm posting some pics. Boo, the black one, is about 2 years old. Rosi, the gray one, is missing one eye, and is about 6 years old.
Both cats were turned in to the shelter already declawed. Rosi was found as a stray, so she probably lost her eye in a fight. Boo was brought in by an owner who couldn't care for him any more. They're both super sweet--especially Rosi, considering that it seems like she's had a rough past.
I knew all along that I wanted to get two cats at once--my husband and I are at work during the days, so I thought it would be best. However, honestly, now that I see these cats' personalities, either one of them probably would have done fine solo. They're tolerating each other's presence, but they're certainly not best friends
Of course, now that I have them both, I wouldn't want to have had to have picked!
Anyway, that's the story on the new cats! I'm looking forward to reading up on diet info here on the forums
