Foster OVERLOAD! *Pic heavy with CUTENESS!*

Unfortunately there is no end in sight with kitten season around here. We have lots and LOTS of fosters! We had a good day yesterday though, both Dexter & Baxter found forever homes. Thought I'd share some pics of the current foster residents.

First up is Irene (as we picked her up at the shelter during the hurricane.). This poor girl has had it pretty rough. As you might be able to see, she had a pretty bad open wound due to what they believed to be an animal attack shortly before giving birth. She gave birth to 6 beautiful kittens right before being abandoned in a box outside the shelter. One of her kittens passed away at the shelter before we got her, and 2 others passed away shortly after getting here. The remaining 3 are about 11 days old and are thankfully beautiful & thriving. Irene's wound has also healed up nicely.

Next is Charlotte. She came to me when the shelter staff thought she was pregnant, but it turns out she was just lactating, so her kittens were probably out there somewhere orphaned. Anyway, she is here being a wonderful surrogate mom to some orphans, and is as sweet as she is beautiful with just the right amount of cattitude.







Precious foster Brooklyn is now COMPLETELY recovered from her illness and ready for her forever home!

Here's Trixie, who after losing her ENTIRE litter ( ) is an amazing surrogate mom along with Charlotte. LOVE this beautiful girl. She's so sweet and gentle.

Ivan was found sick and malnourished in a woman''s yard before being surrendered to the shelter. He is being treated for the eye infection, but is otherwise doing great.

Trust me, I spend a LOT of time up in the foster rooms!

Irene is a doll... She has crazy paws too. She's a polydactyl and has extra toes on all 4 of her paws. I tried to get a pic of the but she wasn't cooperating.

I could never foster... I couldn't give them up!! It must be so hard. They are so adorable... I love Ivan & Ocean... and the rest too... this is how people become hoarders... kitties are so cute!!

You're doing a wonderful thing!!!

Oh my word I am in love with all of these kitties,Ivan is a very handsome boy.I am glad that the mummies that haven't got their babies are helping out being surrogates bless them.x

Trixie is insanely precious, poor thing.

OMGGGG they are so cute I'm about to faint here. It is also so sad that some of the Mommies lost their babies Thank you so much kailie for doing such a wonderful job helping the kitties, love ya!!

Those kitties are all so beautiful. I love the babies and that little orange ball of puff (Abner?) is my favorite in the kittens...of course along with Ocean and Ivan and Punky Brewster and and and..... LOL My favorite adult is Ms. Brooklyn. She looks so much like my Juno...only all grown up.

I let them go knowing there are lots more out there who need our help. It's never easy though, and I have a harder time with some more so than others. I had a REALLY hard time letting Dexter go on the weekend. I really, really bonded with that little guy, having to syringe feed him and nurse him back to health. Plus he was sooo sweet and cuddly, always wanting to be near me. I know I'll have a hard time with Brooklyn when she goes as well, simply because of all we have gone through together.

Well, thanks for the Cuteness warning, but, but, but... AWWWWWWWW! Seriously, that is some major cuteness at your house right now. It's really sweet that the kitten-less moms are helping out with the mom-less kittens. And Brooklyn just looks amazing! What a difference from when you first took her in!

Little Alice is now on hold for adoption!!! A woman came this morning and fell in love with her! She'll still be here for another couple weeks, but she has a forever home waiting for her.
