My Sweet Rescue

Rescue has been gone for a couple of years now, and was only in my life for about 48 hours, but I would still like to share her story.
She was found in a Dahl's parking lot after a bad thunderstorm. She was wet and dirty. My mom brought her home for me knowing I wanted a kitten/cat that was a rescue and not from a breeder.
She was young, no more than 8 weeks old. A vet visit and round the clock care gave her some strength, but not enough to pull through.
I can still clearly see the look that was on my brother's face the night he walked into my work and told my manager that I needed to leave. My manager let me leave and my brother took me home to Rescue, who after a couple of hours of fighting for her life after a small seizure, had another seizure and passed away minutes later.
After an 18 hour shift a couple nights ago I found a kitten the same size as Rescue with thunderstorms rolling in. I now think I've been given a chance to make a difference in this ones life when a difference could still be made.

I'm in tears!!! You were the one person who showed Rescue the love he really needed!!! How wonderful that you were there to do that in the final moments!! Now Rescue has sent you another baby to care for; with all the love in your Heart. This is so bittersweet, I'm sorry for your loss. I know that whether it was 48 hours or 48 years the pain is just as intense!!

This world needs more people like you.

God bless you and little Rescue. The Bridge is brighter for Rescue's presence, as is the world for yours.

I'm all teared up too... I know how it is though... I only knew the little kitten that got killed at my work for a couple hours and I bawled like a baby when we found it dead. I'm sorry for your pain... and hopefully this new kitty will make it through and give you years of kitty love.

Just an update on the little one I found. She's a healthy 5 weeks old and has found her forever home. She's doing great and is completely healthy. She's been named OverTime. I still have the feeling that Rescue sent her to me, and sometimes I get the feeling she's Rescue in a different and stronger body.

Incredible story and wonderful of you to share. . I think your Rescue sent you to find this other kitten and yes, make a difference in this one's life just like you did in Rescue's life .

Sometimes I wish Rescue had been found sooner but then I remember that everything happens for a reason and maybe it was so that years later I'd rescue OverTime, who is still doing great.
