Can someone please tell me the symptoms of hairballs? I have two cats, they've very rarely had hairballs and when they do, they get them out fairly easily. Over the last week I've noticed Tulip sort of coughing/wretching a bit but she never actually vomits anything up. She's also making a little bit of noise when she's breathing (though she sounds just fine when she's purring). She's eating fine and seems to be using the litterbox regularily. I did notice that she hasn't been quite as vocal as usual the last couple of days but this morning she seemed back to normal except for the slight sounds when she's breathing.
She is an overweight cat (we're working on that) and I recenly switched her food from Medi-Cal calorie control to Royal Cannin Indoor Light.
I'm thinking I will buy some hairball remedy stuff and if she doesn't seem better by Monday, I will make a vet appointment for her...any thoughts?
