Today was the worst day EVER for boo boos!! Seriously!! I need a glass of wine!!

This morning I gave LO her bath like normal and put on all her creams and stuff to control her eczema. We've had good control of every spot except behind the knees and the top of her right foot because she scratches. I was on the phone with my friend and I looked down and her foot was bleeding! Not terrible; but if it's to the bleeding stage she really has been at it!
I cleaned her foot up; applied more of her prescription cream, waited a few, added some antibiotic ointment since it was open (and seeping at this point!) and a thin layer of gauze and socks to stop her from scratching. Of course I didn't have any non-stick gauze on hand (I do now) so the gauze stuck to the irritated area and changing it tonight was just awful. It seeped so much it still soaked through her sock.
Bad bad bad!! I used a stronger prescription cream tonight; it usually looks much better in the morning when she has left it alone all night.

So #2 happened when she was at my mother's. She tripped walking up the concrete steps and put a scratch about a CM wide down almost her entire shin!

THEN #3 came also at my Mothers... Mom and my step-dad turned their backs for just a second (you know how that goes...) and she fell and put a good scratch right across her eyelid to her forehead!! The part over her eyelid bled a tiny bit Mom said. The corner of her eye is still puffy; but it's going down. She just may have a shiner. They don't even know what she hit! We were going to do pics next week too.

I'm so glad she is in bed, asleep....because we can't have any more boo boos today!!! Really!! Now with 2 fresh ones like that I'm thinking getting her pool out tomorrow is a bad idea. Esp because the water just exacerbates the eczema when it's this raw.

Poor baby!
The itchies are horrible! I have the scares to prove it.

Give her extra hugs from me. And if water makes it worse keep her dry until she is better.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Aww poor girl.

My neighbors daughter has excema but its mild. They use a type of Aveeno lotion to help control it in between times she may need to use the perscription cream.

Poor little thing....thats'w the way it always seeme to happen

I feel for her with her Eczema, I have it and so does my oldest son, Dakin.

Have you ever tried the Hazelnut neclaces? I have NO idea if they really work or not but people around here swear by them. Im going to get Dakin one this year just for fun.

And LUSH makes some soap that is great for Eczema, I am also going to order some of that as soon as I get my catalogue from them.

My daughter has had eczema her whole life. At 14, we've finally gotten it licked. Here is a list of things that work for us, in case you want to try any:

1. Avoid citrus, and any other foods that seem to aggravate her (my dd can eat limited amts of melons, pineapple).
2. Stop using shampoos with sulfates. I guess the rinsing of the hair would irritate her skin because since we stopped the shampoo, the eczema is 90% better!
3. Give essential fatty acids daily. Here is a kind I'll bet she'd like: http://www.barleans.com/omega-swirl.asp We use the flax ones, but you may prefer the fish oils. They taste GOOD!

Hope she gets no new boo boos today and the ones from yesterday heal quickly.

Wow, what a day!
Kids are so resilient though, so I'm sure she'll heal up quickly. I do feel for her on the excema though, I can't remember when I grew out of it, I want to say I was around 10 or so? But yeah, it was not fun.

Thanks.
I'm going to try some Coconut oil since I've heard good things about that.

I wish I knew what the trigger is for her. It just seems like nothing really makes it any worse. I'm wondering if we shouldn't just request allergy testing after she turns 2 to see if that gives us some answers.

Her foot looks a LOT better today. I'm going to keep socks on her and keep up with the stronger cream for about a week. That should bring it back under control.

Her eye looked better, yet worse when I got her up. The red on her forehead was gone and only by the corner of her eye did it look bruised. The scratch looks fine but the whole top eyelid looked swollen and with a slightly bruised cast to it. Like someone swiped eyeshadow on. I kind of thing she rubbed her eyes when she was waking up because that looks better again as the day has gone on. It doesn't look infected though; just swollen a bit.

Coconut oil is great! Put a little in smoothies, too, as it's good for the insides as well as the outside!

OMG she really did have a rough day!

I have bad Eczema sometimes. I've used Hydrocortisone Cream since I was a kid. It does help. Also the Dermatologist prescribed Clobetasol Propionate Cream for me. That has really helped. Best cream I've ever used
It can't be mixed with Hydrocortisone though.

Oh so true! I cringe any time she pushes her hair out of her eyes because I'm afraid it hurts her. My poor mother (who had her when it happened) called me first thing this morning to check on her. Actually I think Mom is taking it worse than either Tressa or I!

I'm using Triamcinolone on it now (hope I spelled that right!). It's what I use on my own eczema. Her ped gave it to me to use for only one week when she was having a bad flair up before. Fortunately it hasn't seeped any more so it's starting to heal up. Normally we just use a hydrocortizone for flares and daily maintenance is callendula cream.
