Don't get me wrong--I ADORE eBay, and buys tons of stuff there regularly...

You may want to be aware of the problem I've been having the past 3 days with the checkout process. I bought an item 3 days ago, and tried to pay with Paypal as usual. I got a message, "Sorry, we could not complete your request at this time...try again in 15 minutes." I tried that several times, then emailed the seller (it was after 11PM, and way past our bedtime--DH has to be up at 4:40 AM), telling her about the problem, and asked her if I could pay the next day, etc. Next morning, I tried..and tried...and tried for a total of about 14 times. I then called Paypal, who told me I needed to confirm the one credit card I've been using for a few months now (after confirming my account back then). Still didn't work. Emailed the seller again (she's very sweet, BTW). Called Paypal AGAIN later. They suggested that the seller invoice me through Paypal to circumvent the eBay process (they said the problem was with eBay). The seller didn't do the invoice the correct way (she's a newbie, and I didn't make myself clear, I guess).

I just spend 45 minutes on the phone with eBay and Paypal, who say they aren't able to fix the problem yet. They did send me instructions on how to tell the seller how to do invoicing, which I had to copy & paste as a reply, as eBay doesn't divulge her email address...

Oh, on top of all of this, yesterday, Paypal told me that each time I tried to pay, it's possible that I will get charged that amount EACH TIME--in other words, $180 x 14=$2700. The seller has to reverse those charges.

And, I think the calls I made were pay calls..God only knows how much THAT will cost...

That is crazy. I hope you get it all worked out. I liked it better in the days when they would accept bank money orders.

Holy potatoes that sounds like one heck of a mess. Ebay gives me the willies so I dont shop there even if I might potentially find a better deal there than Amazon. For me Amazon is just an easier process and for what I actually do purchase its hands down cheaper all around especially since I only shop when I get free shipping.

I hope everything gets straightened out for you with all this.

While I'm a huge eBay fan, I'd be flipping out like crazy over your situation. I hope you can get this worked out.....and not for $2700! (Heavens, that gives me the shakes just thinking about it!)

Lately, I've been going more toward Amazon, too......most of the time I can get free shipping.

<3 Amazon....Their free super saving shipping is awesome. Even though its 5-9 days I very very rarely get anything after the 5 day mark. I also preorder ALL my Nora Roberts books off there and manage to get them atleast half off even with shipping included and its in my mail box on the release date. The only thing I am weird about with buying off Amazon is used DVDs. I really want the entire Scrubs set but Im heebie jeebieish buying used to get a good price even though I know if I had an issue I could get it resolved quickly and with minimal hassle.

I wouldn't buy used DVDs either.

Vampire Diaries' second season just came on Wednesday.....Supernatural should be following soon. (The show is coming back for a seventh season; I have mixed feelings about that, to be honest.)

I'd like to have the entire Bones series....I've fallen in love with Bones.

We finally kind of have it sorted out. I emailed instructions from Paypal to the seller, on how to create a Paypal invoice (to circumvent the eBay checkout; you can click on "for ebay items" when you pay, but wouldn't work for me). However, the seller said it didn't work! Finally, I just did it through "send money" on Paypal--which is ok, except that I lost a nice chunk of eBay bucks I earned with the purchase. That has me angry--the way I use eBay, those dollars add up each quarter. Then, my payment went through (twice!) from the wrong funding source (a savings account that I keep $5 in, but Paypal makes you link to a bank account after you've reached your lifetime spending limit of $10,000. In case a mistake was made, or to foil hackers, I linked it to this throw-away bank account, and use my credit card instead).

I even tried using DH's Paypal account to pay for it--same problem.

She did refund the extra, and my package will arrive Tuesday. I feel bad for her--it's her first time on eBay. She's been very sweet.

EBay and Paypal both told me that this problem has been going on for days, and I'm not the only one to report it. There seems to be no other way to contact eBay to report it, apart from calling them. The folks at customer service were as helpful as they could be, but they're not equipped to fix it. How will I know it's fixed?!?! I don't want to buy something, and go through this all over again!

I've been on eBay for almost 13 years, and have never had this much trouble!

Ok seriously....We have to be related somehow.....I havent seen all of season 6 of Supernatural because we didnt get tv back till almost the end and I refused to watch it because we missed most of what happened. So that is on the must get list. *Amazon had it brand new for 38 bucks I think* and House season 7 is a must get for us also. And Bones..OMG I LOVE BONES. Im dying for the new season to come out..Nov 3rd is when it starts I think. We record all the episodes on TNT or TBS during the week to watch the reruns and catch up. One day we are going to get it all on DVD because we never miss an episode..even of the reruns we have seen a million times. LOL

I'm so glad you were able to get it all cleared up. But I hope that others aren't having to deal with this....sounds like you're not the only one though. But at least, you're clear now.

I know that, when they shipped TVD, it turns out that it was $2 cheaper than what they first said, so that was good. I'm hoping that Supernatural will be cheaper, too. It's not shipped yet and I haven't received an email about it. I had requested that they be shipped together, but evidently, Amazon didn't feel like waiting around. I have all the Supernatural seasons; as soon as it's over, I go to Amazon and pre-order. I've been hooked on Supernatural almost since the beginning.

Usually once I get TVD and SN at the beginning of September, when DH goes to Portland later on in September, I take two vacation days from work. I flop on the couch with my SN DVDs and watch from beginning to end. A mini-SN marathon.

Bones! I just love Bones. I've asked Santa for the Bones collection for Christmas this year. I had been watching it on TNT, too, but now they're not showing it as often anymore. It's also on Channel 9 (a MYTV channel, I think) on Saturdays at 8:00, then Channel 7 (Another MYTV channel, or whatever they're calling them now) at 10:00. I didn't know TBS carried it, too. I've been trying to watch all the episodes, too. But a lot of what TNT is showing are now reruns of reruns of reruns....I've seen them all now. And yet.....I still watch, too!

I havent gotten around to preordering House or Supernatural yet because of trying to get this garage addition done. But we will have them by DFs birthday next month because he wants to see what happened on both shows and since we already have them all on dvd we cant just not get these last seasons lol.

I finally got to see the pilot of Bones like two or three weeks ago when they started the reruns over again so now we are finally seeing everything in order. LOL I love having sattelite sometimes because it gives us the episode numbers so we can see what goes with what and can adjust how we watch whats on the dvr so its in some kind of order. Im hoping to find a good deal on the Bones season to surprise DF for Christmas he would have a heartattack if I found them for him that and Scrubs.

It's getting a bit off-track lately. I'd like to hear about everyone's eBay experiences, and/or if my problem has happened to you, and if you have any solutions for the problem. Thanks!

My apologies, too, Barbara! I do get excited from time to time. I didn't mean to hijack the thread either.
