For those who had lost your pets I wrote this for you. I think our animals would want us to move on and keep them in your hearts.

Your Companion

You found me and took care of me
You fed me and made sure I ate
You made sure I was in good health
You played with me when I wanted to have fun
I was there for you when you were sad
I wanted to make sure I did everything to make you happy.
I slept by your side at night
We shared holidays and birthdays even though I didn't know what they meant.
You had your difficult times but I never gave up on you
As the years past i got older and still i tried my best to show you I love you
I'd roll around and wanted you to pet me.
I got sick and you did what you could to take care of me.
I knew it was my time to go and you cried.
I will always remember all the good times we had and I know you were my best friend.
I will be in heaven waiting for you to be there with me and we can play again.

What a lovely tribute to our beloved companions and their caretakers.
I was lucky to have my darling Fred for 18 years. He has been gone for nearly 6 yeas and I still miss him every day.

That's beautiful, Mindy. I lost little kitten Smudge when he was 6 months old, and it's been almost 6 years. Can't believe it still sometimes. And the hardest part was the decision, but he needed peace.

That is one of the most beautiful tributes I ever read. It sure fits most of us.
