So, Holland is seeming very comfortable in the new apartment. The first week or so she would be under the bed for at least an hour after I got home from work. Then for a while she would come out as soon as I walked in the door. Yesterday, I came home and she was out on her own, sitting on the couch!
The problem is, she has completely reverted back to being a nocturnal creature. She has always spent some time on her nighttime activities, but she would at least snuggle with me when I went to bed and would generally leave me alone until she was ready for breakfast. Now, she wants to play late into the night, and when I go to bed she pesters and pesters and pesters me. I've been staying up later with her (and have been sleepy at work because of it
) but I am fairly certain she's up all night. I woke up at 2:00 this morning to her batting a furry mouse all over the apartment. Then the kneading and the headbutts start around 4:00 am and she won't give it up until I get up to feed her. I've tried ignoring her, but she is persistent. Then when I'm up getting ready for work, back under the bed she goes.
Even when I'm home on the weekend, she sleeps under the bed all day, then around 6:00 she's out and ready for HER day to start.
I talk to her all day long when I'm home, trying to get her to come out and play so that I can get her schedule somewhat adjusted to mine, but I haven't had any luck. I play with her as soon as I get home, but she's just got energy to spare when I'm ready for bed!
We've moved a couple of times since I adopted her, and I don't remember her ever falling into this behavior/schedule, at least not for this long. Any ideas of how I can get her on a (somewhat) human schedule again? I need my sleep!!
