Can I give him anything?

The past couple days I have noticed that Walter wasn't his normal self. I kept telling my husband that he looked depressed. Does that make sense? He is usually such a cheerful free spirit, but lately his eyes have been so sad, and he's been moving slower.

Tonight as we were getting dinner ready, I noticed that his breath was really stinky. When I was in high school I had a cat die b/c of an abscessed tooth, so I got worried and looked in his mouth. I noticed that one of his tiny front teeth was missing, so I investigated further and it looks like the tooth somehow got shoved into the gum behind his teeth. It might not be that, but that is what it looks like.

I can tell he is in pain. We are taking him to the vet tomorrow, but is there anything I can give him for pain until then? I'm sure you will probably tell me no, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask anyway. I just hate leaving him in pain.

How did Walter do at the vets?

I know I'm late in seeing this, but I hope Walter's mouth is ok after the vet visit! Poor guy. I don't know what one could give to a cat for mouth pain.... I'd say ask the vet while you're there? Good luck with everything!!

They couldn't get him in today, the only appointment they had was a half an hour after I called and the vet is almost an hour away. We're getting him in tomorrow. He hasn't eaten all day, but is drinking some. I wish I had some canned food I could water down for him. He's been spending all day hiding or sleeping. I feel so bad for him, I wish there was something I could do for him. My poor baby. This isn't like him at all.

He needs to eat something, even if it's tuna or if you have to grind it up and force feed him. Otherwise, you'll be dealing with liver issues.

Hope he does well tomorrow at the vet!

Your kitty really, really needs to eat something. Cats get fatty liver disease if they go too long without eating and that can very quickly become life threatening.

Your poor boy is in serious pain. In truth, with a tooth jammed into the roof of his mouth, he needs to be seen on an emergency basis. If I were you, as soon as you get up tomorrow (or right now, if you see this), I'd take him to the emergency clinic.

Many get-well vibes for Walter.
