Last night I found a kitten at the end of my street and he was not really moving, only lying there and mewing... I brought him into an animal hospital but because of the time the only thing they would do is a quick once over of his body and bones, and a listen to his heart and lungs. They told me he is about 8 weeks old.

Well I brought him home (as his only other alternative was to be euthanized) and have been feeding him emulsified food and water through a needle-less syringe.. He will not eat or drink on his own.
If he puts enough effort into it he can get up and even walk in circles, but not for long periods of time.

He is obviously malnourished, is partially blind, and I have been doing research that leads me to believe that he may even have "Wobbly Kitten" disorder... but I am already completely attached to him... I even named him Punk.

I was just wondering if there was some general advice on how I can get him healthy again?? I want him to be eating and drinking, and even if I have to monitor him, I want him to be able to walk if possible. I don't know what kind of food to be giving him, and I don't know what type of schedule I should be keeping to make sure that he is fed, but I obviously can't leave him in the care of my 1 year old cat Harley

Thanks everyone for any and all advice!

At 8 weeks, you might try still giving him some kitten formula to entice him to drink. Other than that, I don't know, sorry!

Look up the recipe here for "kitten glop." You can force-feed it to the kitten. It sounds like you're doing it right; usually, just squirting it into the corner of the kitten's mouth will cause it to swallow it.

The kitten may just be weak from malnourishment, or it may have ingested some sort of poison. There is lots of information in our kitten section.

Did the animal hospital give you any antibiotics for him?

By "wobbly kitten," do you mean Cerebellar Hypoplasia? Look up videos of such cats on youtube. There are lots of them, with various levels of severity. We have a member here who has a cat with the problem, too, and may be able to make suggestions.

A kitten that age is very fragile, and it sounds like this one is very sick. Bless you for trying to save it.
