A few month ago (8 or 9), I noticed a rough patch on my cat Vanish's inner right hind leg. I looked at it and it appeared to be a scablike crust--not a lot, just enough to matte the hair at the base. She and her brother tussle a lot and it wasn't bleeding and didn't look bad, so I ignored it.

I kept noticing it, but because it didn't seem to bother her, I sort of disregarded it, I was in my last semester of college and she had just had a checkup.

A couple months ago (2 or 3), I noticed it hadn't gone away. I also noticed a similar patch on her inner left foreleg. I trimmed the fur in the area, cleaned it, applied antibiotic cream and let it be. She showed no signs of discomfort and let me mess with the area. I figure she's been bothering at it and hasn't been letting it heal, whatever it is. Felt weird ignoring it, but time kept passing and I always ha "better things to do," :[

That was around the time I was graduating college. I've graduated now, and life has been incredibly hectic since. However, both areas have still not healed. If I (carefully) remove some of the rough crusty bits, it's raw and pink underneath and bleeds a bit. I keep saying, "I'll do something about it," but I've slowly been going broke and don't have a vet in my new location (I moved after graduating). Well, I'm realizing that I DO need to do something about it. However, all the decent vets are ridiculously expensive even for just a checkup fee.

If there's any question of it being serious or in immediate need of attention, I'll do what I must. But I thought I would see what information I could find out before paying $80 just to have her get a basic physical, when my old vet saw them both recently. A note, my old vet did not notice these areas. I found them because I'm very affectionate and touchy-feely and both my kitties love having their belly/legs rubbed.

Thing is, another area has popped up, on her throat. This looks a bit different and may not be the same thing that's going on. There's a lot of black stuff in a hard but small mass over what seems to be a wound. I don't know if it's related. It was there a few weeks ago, but just as a little scrape. I immediately thought it was some version of her leg issues, but it has changed.

Here are photos of all three areas.

First photo is the foreleg area, second is the hind leg, third is the throat.

Some notes: She eats fine, I don't think I've seen her scratching at herself or the wounds, she doesn't lick at them a lot, but she does love having her chin/throat scratched a LOT. She does not seem to be in pain if I touch her in these areas, even if I pull the skin up between my fingers gently.

It could possibly be ringworm...hard to tell, but I would def have a vet check her out as soon as you can afford to.
