Bed rest--it stinks!

Thread Starter
The doctor has put me on bed rest and I'm going crazy. I am 36 weeks 3 days pregnant today. My blood pressue spikes when I am not laying down (specifically on my side). I go back to the doctor on Tuesday to have an ultrasound and to determine where we go from here. Though, the plan is probably to get me until Thursday, 37 weeks and either induce or plan for a c section (depending on my blood pressure and which way baby is positioned).

It is so frustrating, there's the part of me that knows this is absolutely the best thing for baby and me. But, there's the part of me that hates depending on other people to do everything for me.

The cats are enjoying having me around 24/7, Jack has figured out I'm his captive audience, and can play fetch anytime he wants without excuse!

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

for the rest of your pregnancy.

It happened to me, too, when I was pregnant with our son (40 years ago!). Bed rest, couch rest, as much rest as I could get. Every time I'd get up, my BP would spike like crazy.

It is the best thing you can do right now....for yourself and for your baby.

Hang in there; you're almost there!

Get all the "rest" you can - 'cause in just a few weeks you'll be begging for rest.

Let that bun cook as long as possible, I'd say - meanwhile - well, let's just say try not to go too crazy - sorry - that darn blood pressure!!

I am sorry you are stuck in bed. But it will be worth it since you will have a brand new healthy life. Plus let Jack entertain you .

Milk it for all its worth, as from even my little bit of experience helping my sister w/ her newborn while her husband was in Afghanistan it is soooooo muuuuuuch woooooork. My most stressful day I've ever had in my professional life pales by comparison, especially since all work problems have a solution, but sometimes babies just feel like crying and don't come with an instruction manual.

Consider it an advanced rest payment.
