Hi Friends

Tomorrow I am boarding a plane to Brazil
. Two weeks of family, sun and fun!

Going to see my family, some of them I haven't seen for a long time - last time I was there was 3 1/2 yrs ago.... Grandma was 95 at the time, now she is over 98! She will be the very first person I visit, right out of the airport - as always

Well, anyways - since tonight is my last night with the kitties, I am not going to be on the computer, or watching TV - I am going to be 100% enjoying their company

I still have some things to do in the computer though, so I will be checking in a little later.

This will be a wonderful trip for you!! I know you will be worried about your babies, but Kelly just sounds too good to be true! Wish I could hire her
. She will keep you abreast of everything down to the smallest detail, I am sure. So go and enjoy your family and your grandmother
. I am sure they are all SO very excited about your visit. Have a safe, relaxing and fantastic time in Brazil. Safe travels

Say, Carolina...you know they even have electricity in Brazil, now, so the internet goes there, too?

Mike Mike... If you only knew where my mom lives! Yep, I am not kidding when I say she live in the forest, lol- rain forest! Ha! Close to the city, but yep, forest forest! Property has been in the family for almost 300 yrs, untouched rain forest- private reserve- awesome, but I am surrounded by nature and its creatures- with it, barely any cell phone connection! I do have a blackberry service here, but it gets tricky! Mom HATES computers! I did not bring my laptop as I wanted a vacation...... So, connection is limited! I am posted more on facebook, specially pictures...
I will post more pictures here on tcs when I get back. I can stay in the city too, but my moms house is just amazing, and it is so nice to get away from it all... Mountains, nature, waterfall... It's nice for the soul!
I spent the day today in brasilia with my brother and sister before I got here in fortaleza- it was awesome! Then when I got here I went straight to see my grandma- she is 98, and to my wonderful surprise, doing amazing!!! Mom is doing great too, and I am already planning a huge outing with a bunch of cousins for thursday to eat a feast of crab with some nice cold beer on the beach- NICE!
Anyways, I needed this badly- I am enjoying tremendously- just super tired, but my God, so nice being here!
Oh, and did I mention the food???? Yummy!
Ah- brought 2 da birds for my cousins kitties- 2 cousins have kitties here and no toys- think they will love it!
Hugs from a tropical rain forest, and tomorrow from the beach!

Carolina, I know what you're talking about. We have a house on 26 forest acres up in Arkansas, and we just don't get to spend any time up there any more.

Hey friends!!!!! Having a total blast here! For some reason haven't taken many pictures yet, but have done much already!!!
I will post some pictures here to give you an idea of things - I am having a WONDERFUL TIME!!!!!

First thing I did, right out of the airport, was to visit my grandma - she is 98 and kickin'- doing amazing!!!

Then off to my mom - she lives in the forest - reception is usually with spiders and snakes - this time at least it was not with a tarantula.... This was huge, but I am not a fan of tarantulas.... sorry... they do not last long at mom's
Snakes do - we don't have a problem with them.

Fruits gallore - Cashew fruit from the tree is a hit there.... for those who don't know, the cashew nut hangs from the outside of this fruit - you toast this gray tip you see in there, break it down, and the nut is inside. The fruit is juicy and delicious - very rich in vitamin C

My mom rescues animals of all sorts, then releases them in the wild - if they can't survive, they live with her, since she lives in the forest anyways - this is her latest rescue - "Loro". He is a cutie.... He was being raised inside but being mistreated and with the wings cut and malnourished - she is now working on teaching him how to fly, socialize with other birds and gather food on his own - he loves companioship though, so I think he will stay for a while - he is super cute.

This is my in my moms property, going up the mountains - it is native rain forest, and has been in the family for the last 300yrs. My mom has transformed into a Private Natural Reserve so nobody can touch/build or destroy
It is amazing, we even have a little fall!!!

Yummmmm - THIS is the way to eat crab!!!!!! It is kept fresh until serving, then cooked to order on coconut sauce. It is to die for, and my absolute favorite - this is me, on my first but not my last

Here we are, on the beach, my cousin Christina, my aunt Margarida, my cousin Raquel and I... The beach is amazing, and the water is SO SO SO warm!!!!!!!!!!! AND....... you can dring beer on the beach and of course...... eat crab

Tonight I have a small family reunion for my aunt's 50yrs graduation party, and Sunday a bunch of cousins are going to my mom's with a guitar and we will go to the waterfall for a night of music under the moon (if there is one LOL) by the fall - we have a ton of fresh shrimp (my grandpa RIP was the owner of a large shrimp farm, now belongs to the family), desserts, and natre - yep, I have several cans of mosquito repellent too

Anyways,
My kitties are doing wonderful with Kelly, and I am having my kitty fix here too, as 2 of my cousins are cat people -
Hugs,
Me!!
