Here are all the kitties I now care for... 5 indoors, and 4 living in my backyard.

The ferals moved in after a dog attacked and killed a few of the litter when they were living under a house down the street. I supposed my house was the best choice since it's the only fenced yard in the neighborhood. They have been here for about 4 months and mom and dad have been trapped and spayed & neutered... they two boys will be done next weekend. All four have become quite spoiled... expecting meals on time or they climb into my deck chair and stare in the backdoor.

What a great family of ferals! I hope they stay for good. Do you know how old the kittens are, and are they getting social at all?

I am feeding one feral kitten who looks the same age as those two or slightly younger, and I'm hoping to trap him soon for neutering and then keep him a little longer to see if he can be socialized to be adopted. If not, I'll have to return him, but I have high hopes. He's already coming pretty close to me, and he seems quite curious.

This picture is a couple months old... they showed up here in May and were about a month old, So I guess them to be around 5 months now. The one I call Pocus will let me pick him up and hold him for a few minutes, but his brother Hocus will only play with me from a distance (toy on a string)... sometimes when the other cats are close to me he will sneak around and slap me quick with a paw like he wants to play, but he's just too scared. The one I call Lucifer, I believe was once a pet, he has always been more friendly and after about two weeks of going out and feeding them he climbed up in my lap and started purring. The Momma kitty took a long time to trust me and just within the last month started letting me scratch her head before I feed her... if I try to put my hand anywhere else she gets testy. I have bonded with them and they don't seem too interested in ever leaving. Right now I'm looking into winter shelter for them before it starts getting cold.

That's great! It's sounds like they are quite tame. I suppose their impending neutering will make the kittens much less likely to leave when they're older, also. Good luck with everything!

They have come a long way... I go out and sit with a can of cat food every morning and every evening (aside from the dry food I put out)... just a little something to bring them closer to me, eventually they got comfortable with my presence... they still don't like anyone else coming around. Hocus & Pocus got their names because they would disappear so quickly when I would open my back door.

They are all beautiful! It's wonderful you've gotten them spayed/neutered....that momma looks like a baby herself.

Yes, I believe her to be a kitten from a litter last year... that was before they moved into my yard... once they were here I felt responsible for them. And I've found a great group here that does the TNR, so we will get all the ones we can neutered to stop the cycle.
