New and new cat

Hi all!

My husband I are in the process of adopting a third cat to add to the two I brought into the marriage. Just waiting on her to be spayed by the rescue, then she's ours! I haven't brought home a new cat in four years (last one was 100% feral), so I'm excited and nervous at the same time. The new cat was abused, and at the age of four, still not spayed and recovering from a litter. Here's my new beauty:

I know nothing about Siamese type cats, so I'm curious where the long hair comes from. Just a long haired Siamese, or can a DLH be mixed in and still result in the points and long hair? Her kittens are black, which is apparently typical for Siamese. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting her home and gaining her trust.

Hi there! I'm glad you found our site!

Your new kitty is BEAUTIFUL!!! Don't worry, I had a former feral that had 8 kittens and they typically are very thin after nursing. She should fill out just fine. I'm so happy for you that you adopted an adult kitty. Many people don't, and they are so loving and appreciative!

If I can help you with questions you have about our site, just ask. You can respond in this thread, or click on my name and send a PM. (my name is Kim)

We have a rule here - no kittens. :-) My feral was a year old when I trapped her, and although it took three years to socialize her, it was 100% worth it. I think sometimes the harder they are, the more gratifying it is!

I like your rule - the kittens are the easiest to adopt - I don't know about Siamese breeds - but I'm sure any cat that was abused will have some baggage - most likely mostly overcome with the loving you'll provide.

She's beautiful, and keep us updated on her progress, please.
