If you live in America like she and I do we have the RIGHT to declaw our cat. While none of my cats are declawed, I do wish my Savannah was declawed. But it is too late for that now. Lastly just cause the site is antideclaw does not mean all the members need to be. So if that makes me prodeclaw O well. That is MY RIGHT! I am just glad this member adopted a cat.Originally Posted by Yosemite
Welcome back. Firstly, as you have read in the rules, we are very anti-declawing here at TCS so I'll ask our members to please play nice and refrain from commenting. The damage is done and all we can do is try to educate.
Since I've asked our members who support our site rules re declawing to play nice, I would also ask those of you who agree with declawing to also play nice and respect what this site stands for as you agreed to when signing up.Originally Posted by Cat Person

You know I do not mean this to sound disrespectfull since I think you are a great person. I will have to agree to disagree.
Okay I am sorry. I just wanted to show her some support on her decision. You know I respect you and love the siteOriginally Posted by Yosemite

FWIW, not all states of the US allow declawing. I believe at this point in time there are actually 4 states that have banned declawing so hopefully in the near future we will see the rest of North America catch up with Europe and many parts of the world in banning what we consider a barbaric practice.
