a few days ago my friends husband was walking in the state game lands and found a bucket with 9 KITTENS inside
...we are guessing they are 4-5 weeks old, their teeth have just come through the gums and they are very wobbly when they walk...the first few days all they wante was the kitten replacement milk, but now Sam eats VERY well, but cant get him to drink yet, and Frodo tries to eat but has not quite got the hang of it..lol any way Sam the one who eats well is more laid back than Frodo..Frodo is a wild man..lol..i have noticed they do go in the litter box..both poop and pee but they also go in their sleep..both poop and pee...should i be putting them in the litter box more often? of do they just need to get a little older?....i put them in it about 5-10 minutes after i feed them and after they have played...they can get in and out by them selves..i made a little ramp
and how do you teach them to drink?..i know they are supposed to learn from their mamma but since she is not around is there anything i cad do? we have 4 other adult cats, but they don't want to be bothered with the kittens..lol..our dogs however love them! Frodo tries to nurse on our beagle Max..lol

OMG So cute!

We just rescued Monty who is that age as well and when we had him sleeping in a box (he could get out of it) he would potty in it in the middle of the night. But I figured out he was just waking up wanting out or couldn't get out of the box in time.

We have since moved him to a big boy bed (little cat bed) now that he uses the litter box mostly on his own. Once we moved him we realized he no longer pottied in his bed.

What are they sleeping in?

Oh and as for the drinking, Monty just now learned how to drink from a dish and he is 6 weeks today (we're guessing...he's still so tiny).

As long as they are forumula fed, they are getting plenty of hydration (according to my vet).

I left out tiny dishes of water and eventually he stopped trying to play and tip it over and figured out it was for drinking LOL.

Try the dog bed, I know monty hasn't had accidents since we took him out of the box. I figured that he could get out of the box and try to eat every part of my body in the middle of the night anyways, as well as trying to nurse on me
So I just got him a big boy bed and I havent noticed him pottying in it at all

Frodo LOVES the kitten supplement milk...he would rather drink that form a syringe than eat..lol...and Sam is the total opposite! he would rather eat the soft food with the kitty milk mixed in..lol...

Sounds like Monty LOL! I've got him down to two syringe feedings a day since he seems to be catching up on his weight now. He was only 7oz when we got him!!!

But he's eating a wet, dry combo. He's getting really good at eating the kibble without me having to soak it first!

our babies are growing up *tear* LOL
