So, what's the rate for a used wedding dress these days?

Basically right now money is tight and we're trying to find thing to sell. 6 years ago when I got married I wouldn't part with my dress for anything, now I'm not sure why I'm holding on to it. I don't have a daughter (and most likely won't) to pass it on to, I'm not going to wear it again, so why hold on to it, right?

The original price was $800, although I did get it on sale ($450). It's made by Symphony, who specializes in veils and tieras but decided to branch out to gowns that year or the year before. It's been preserved and is still in the box it came in when I picked it up from the cleaners. I haven't taken it out of the box but it's been stored in a closet ever since.

Here's the dress (please ignore the look on my face!):

Nearby, no. At least not that I know of. We had one a while back but it only lasted a few years before it went under. I know, it doesn't make any sense to me either. Around here either people get deals at Goodwill or Salvation Army or they buy via yard sales or direct ads.

I tried to sell my wedding dress 2 years ago after I got married and had no luck. At first I think I tried to get $400 for it (It was $999 new) and lowered my price to $150 and still no luck. Mine had colour in it though, so that could be why I couldn't sell it.

I'd put it on ebay if I were you. Put in at least 4 photos, tell a little story about the dress, stress that it's been kept preserved, etc. Make it sound IRRESISTIBLE! I'll bet you can unload it!

It's a beautiful dress!

Good luck!
