For the past few mornings, I've been waking up to see my two cats grooming each other, really focused on each other for the first times at the edge of my bed. This is new since Monet would kick Picasso off the bed if she tried to stay on it for long.

This morning, I woke up, saw the two of them next to me. Monet sprawled out on his back, Picasso stretched AGAINST him with her head on his belly, purring.
It was a beautiful sight to see!!!

Until Monet caught me watching them. He gave a grunt, got up and sulked away, causing Pisasso to fall off the bed in the process
he was ashamed of being snuggly!

Awwww that's so sweet!!!

It's similar to my Sophie with Jack. One minute her and Jack will be giving noses kisses to each other, then Sophie pulls her head back in disgust as if to say " I'm too much of a Lady to be with you!! " then struts off, but this leaves poor Jack looking confused with a "What did l do?!" look

Awww, that is so sweet
. I love it when I find my too in the process of grooming each other (usually Swanie licking Cindy's head) or sprawled out together. It makes my heart glad that they love each other.

Thanks for share!...
I am sure they'd move if I got up for my camera, but I am going to keep it on my night table and hope they won't move when I reach for it, if they snuggle again!!

Awwww, that must have warmed your heart!

While I've seen Mollipop and Tabby chasing each other back and forth throughout the house and have seen them in the catnapper together, I've not seen any kind of grooming and actual cuddling. I would give anything to see cuddling among my gang again.

Karen, this post was so sweet!!! Monet has really taken to your new little girl.

(Calling sweetly) Oh Mystik Spiiiiraaaal.... remember how you said reading about Monet & Picasso's intros as well as Simon & Garfunkel and Joni's intro made you want a sibling for Holland? ... I seem to recall that you recently moved into an apartment that allows 2 cats .......

That's so sweet!!
I'm glad Monet got over his feeling of being put out by the new addition so soon and is becoming fast friends with little Picasso!!

You guys are terrible!!

I want to wait until I have some time off so that I can be at home for at least a few days for introductions. I am SO worried that I'll bring a new cat in and my princess will think she's not a princess anymore...
The only time she has been around other cats was in the kitten room at the shelter - she was brought in at 2 months old and I adopted her at 5 months old. According to the shelter staff, she got along fine in there, but now it's been almost 3 years, and I have NO idea how she will adapt. I wouldn't worry so much if I had a confident outgoing cat, but she's scared of every little thing... what if I bring in a new cat and she just hides all the time?

PS - Karen, that is SO sweet about Picasso and Monet, even if you DID cause Monet some embarrassment...

that was my main concern with Monet.. would he feel rejected? Of course, he was ANGRY at me for about 2 weeks straight. He wouldn't let me touch him, he'd growl constantly (if you saw my video of him growling, lol).. but eventually he got used to the smell and became more his old self again.. until he saw Picasso for the first time, and he started hissing and hitting at her and refused to let me touch him again.

I'm rambling. What I am trying to say, I am sure Holland will be angry, feel ignored and dejected for a while, but you just need to remind her that she's your #1 baby and she comes first! I tell Monet that all the time! I still put Picasso in the bedroom to have 1-on-1 time with Monet. It's been a little over a month now and they love each other, and no more resentment (at least not while I am around to witness, lol)

You just gotta have patience and keep showing MORE love to Holland than you would for the new kitty
