Catnip questions

i just bought my cat 3/4 oz. of catnip, and i realized i don't know how much to give him. how much should i give him? what kind of effects will it have on the cat? what happens if i smoke it? j/k about that last one.

I normally just put alittle bit, like a teaspoonful on the floor and they normally roll in it and some of them eat it. I also put some on there toys.

i crushed some up, and i let XI (my cat) smell it. he seemed to be interested, but didn't eat it. i also rubbed some on his scratching post/house, so he will use it more. i also put a little in his bowl.

When you see them bouncing around the room like a pinball in a game....you know you gave them too much......LOL

Originally I bought a pillow type thing filled with catnip. Shortly after playing with it a hole developed. Of course! LOL
So I took the pillow and made a larger hole, stuck it in the toe of an old sock, squished the catnip around, tied a huge knot in the sock and now leave it on the floor for them to play with at will.
