What kind of a company do you work for? I like the name! I am so glad you got the recognition you deserve!! I feel badly I don't know all that much about you yet (like what kind of work you do)...I have been missing in action for awhile due to unforeseen circumstances, but I am so very happy for you! Hope to get to know you better!
Hi Debby! I work for a fairly new biotech research facility. We have a couple areas of focus. One is drug discovery related to Parkinson's, a couple of other neuro diseases and colon cancer. We also produce a data base of human proteins and protein reactions that we sell to other pharm companies etc.
I'm a lab techinician and do just about everything!
I make reagents including antibiotics and different drugs, buffers, etc. I also make plates with different drugs and antibiotics for research discovery. I also make big deals on consumables, drugs, chemicals and equipment and then purchase. Track down MSDS's for chemicals and reagents and keep up our MSDS data base. Last but not least! I do some plasmid DNA preps and a bit of cloning (DNA and proteins only!) Oh and I can't forget I sometimes grow, care for and harvest live cell lines. The whole thing gives me a headache!
That's what I do in a nutshell! I hope to also get to know you in the future!
