My parents are out of town at the beach this weekend but I was expecting a vitamin/supplement to come in in one of my mom's shipments so I called and asked if it was okay if I stopped by the house to see if the package had come in. My dad said yes so after work I went over.

The package was there, so I opened it, and the supplement was in there, along with a really cool water filter pitcher - which I've been wanting for awhile. I buy gallons of water for me and the cats because my water's disgusting and so chlorinated that my bathroom smells like the pool. So I called my mom to ask if I could order one through her as well - it turns out she was planning to give me that one for my birthday!!! OOPS!!!!

I told her I'd forget about it and she could give it to me in two weeks on my birthday but she said no and told me to take it tonight. I've had fun putting it together! It seems really nice and it came with 3 filters which should last me a year - how thoughtful!!! Best gift ever!

Here's a link to the filter: Shaklee Get Clean "Year of Water"

Way cool! I like it!

Several years ago, my mother and my aunt were at the house wrapping Christmas presents. I didn't know what they were doing and I just happened to stop in ...... just as my aunt put one of my presents on the kitchen table to wrap. I saw it (it was a really neat apple pie saver) and said, "Oh wow! Nice!" Mom picked it up and handed to me and said, "Merry Christmas! Brat!"
Well, how was I supposed to know?! She said that I always knew when something was going on and knew just when to stop in.

Have fun with your pitcher! It looks great.

LOL! Oops! We have well water here but our refrigerator came with a filtered water/ice dispenser. We LOVE it. We filtered water for drinking at our last place too. It really makes such a difference!!

I was good for finding out some gifts too. My Mom thought my ears just radared in when she was discussing them. The last time I was 16 and she and my step-dad had bought me the bed frame I'd been wanting for years. She was talking to my best friend's mother on the phone (her friend too) and setting it up so that my friend would come get me to spend the night at her house so they could set it up while I was gone. My room is just down the hall from the kitchen and the outlet for the phone is right by the kitchen doorway...I don't know why she thought I wouldn't hear!! So I ended up helping put my new bed together and then going out with my friend! lol

I love gifts - I love the surprise and the anticipation - so I like unopened gifts the best! I was a little upset that I found out about the pitcher especially because I had NO IDEA she was getting it for me and would really have been surprised. But in a way, it's very good! Money's tight but I'm not going to give my nasty water to the kittens, so this will save me about $15 in gallons of water over the next few weeks before my birthday.
And of course tons of money after that! So after I got over it and she assured me it was okay, I'm really happy with the way things turned out!

It's all my dad's fault of course...
