How do you think this car would work?

All hotrodded, maybe bright red (or possibly cream), possibly with the top chopped, big motor, shiny wheels and aggressive tires? Towing my Model T hot rod?

Anybody recognize what it is? A hint: It's not what I thought it was, as I drove past it day after day. I didn't realize what it was until I saw a couple like it at a high-zoot restoration shop in Ohio.

Hudson? lol I have no idea but a fixed up, she'd be a head turner for sure! I love old cars.

I can see it chopped, chrome headers out of chrome header ports on the front fenders, but I'm seeing bright yellow with lots of chrome and black accent.

A big hint: A Hudson (Hornet) is what I thought it was...but it's not!

Is it a Buick? Maybe from the 50's or 60's? I see it in either Candy Apple Red with gold metal flake or Blue, not midnight blue or baby/sky blue but somewhere in between.

I tried so hard to make out the emblem and failed. Caddy crossed my mind but that didn't seem right either. Its a tough one.

I was going to say Nash.
It looks like so many, but not quite at the same time

Check this out!

For Sale

It's a rare enough car that even car guys are likely to get it wrong! When this car was built, the company was already dying, but it took about 5 or 6 more years to completely die.

I knew it was late 40s and at first thought Studebaker but it on second look, I knew it wasn't. Next thought was a Hudson but it also didn't line up with my memories of the last Hudson around this area. Thought the last of what it really is rolled off the line in the early 40s.

I dunno about chopping and making it into a hotrod......I can see it in the classic black, all chrome restored, etc. and left in the original configuration. BUT where do you get parts? Have them remanufactured?

Ooohhhh.... a Packard? Holy cow.... you getting it or not? I hope so. I can see the cream color choice, but I think that's a little too tame. a nice Cherry Red or a sweet Royal Blue would be better. Chrome, two-tone seats...

That is a beauty. I would do it with no chopping or rodding, just a soft cocoa brown finish and chrome so bright you can't look directly at the car.

Yep, definitely a Candy Apple Red or a Cherry Red! Where would you get the parts? And are you buying it?

The fact that it's sitting out front (and has for a number of months now) indicates the seller thinks it's more valuable than it is. I haven't even asked.

Besides, I hope to win the Clean Air 55 in November!

I have a friend that is a hot rodder, member of the Beatniks Car
Club, did several episodes of Monster Garage, etc, really hard core car guy, and his favorite saying on the subject is "anyone can restore a car, but it takes a real man to cut one up." He drives a 1940's, chopped and channeled Mercury every day. He is quite a character, and one of my favorite people.
