My new addition, Tali

Hi! I thought I'd share my story for anyone who wants to hear I have never been a cat person, I've never owned a cat, my parents never owned cats, and I never really planned on owning a cat (I'm a "dog" person). Well, Tali had other plans. About three weeks ago my dad was driving down the road when he saw a kitten who had been ran over in the middle of the road. Everyone was just passing her by as she lay on the asphalt in 100+ degree weather. My dad couldnt just leave her, so he pulls over and brings her home. I get there to visit and just cant handle her cuteness. I expected her to be mean, being a "srtray" cat who is most likely in a great amount of pain. I rush her to an emergency vet where we find out she has broken leg, fleas, ear mites, worms, and a broken tail. Her ears are bruised from the accident and she is very dehydrated. After several weeks now of medication, she is almost back to normal. She runs and jumps and plays with everything and is the sweetest little kitten ever. She'll chase you around just the lick your toes and doesn't ever want to be alone. She still has a long road of recovery ahead of her, but she's found her forever home

Although, I am learning something new everyday. I know nothing abouts kittens or cats and need all the advice I can get!

Hello and welcome to the TCS .

First of all you will get plenty of useful information on kitten and cat care. Second your new kitten was very lucky to have found you. I wish it was under better circumstances of course. But Tails is very lucky to have found such a caring person to help her after such a horrific incident. Lastly it is always nice to turn "dog people" into "cat people" .

You came to the right place!

How lucky Tails is to have been rescued by both your father and yourself! Sending lots of vibes for a quick recovery. Hope you find lots of new information here... I've had cats practically my entire life, and this website has still taught me so much!

What a wonderful story. I can't understand how the other people were just passing her by. Luckily, your father was on the road that day. We'd love to see a photo of her.

Cats have a long history of worming their way into our lives when we're not planning for it. In fact, researchers believe that that is exactly how they were "domesticated" originally.

I am just amazed at how loving she is. The vet thinks she was actually thrown out of a car window. I was expecting her to be kinda mean, but she is the most loving cat I've ever seen. She'll follow me around so she can lick my feet. She'll even try to to jump in the shower with me! I am already in love with her, she is such a character! I just want to make sure I do everything I can for her!
