Like the title says I give up with trying to get this stubborn boy of mine to eat wet!!!! Plan was put wet out when I went to work and no dry so he would get hungry enough to at least get some wet into him,but to no avail this little boy had nothing to do with it yesterday and waitied for hubby to come home at 3 and for the dry..He apparently powered down the dry... He does drink his water, but i have tried everything to get the wet into him. I do give him a half of tsp of canned pumpkin with water in it and he likes that so at least he getting more water, but tried putting pumpkin on his wet and he will eat the pumpkin and walk away....just don't know what to do!!!! Hes ADDICTED to the Blue Buffalo kitten dry. Now I know why they call it kitty crack.

There are worse things than him not wanting to eat what you want him to eat. I'd say stop stressing over it and go with the flow. Just enjoy your little Cynder kitty!

Have you tried completely coating the dry with a bit of wet? If he likes his kibble that much that might do the trick. And if he does accept it, sneak a bit more of the wet in every day while reducing the amount of dry. Be sneaky

Your choice of dry food if I remember correctly is a fairly healthy "drug"
. So I would not worry so much and enjoy your cat, maybe?

I am having way more luck feeding the boys canned after putting in a little dry in their wet food. I have hand fed them a few bites so that they get it that their favorite crunchies are hidden inside the canned food and they're eating canned more. But as mike said, there could be worse things and please do not stress.
In my case giving Calvin canned food is essential since he gets diarrhea on dry food. But maybe you can offer him a little wet as a treat everyday to get him aquainted and that way you will not be throwing away canned food everyday. All the best.

I just have to say I can see why you are trying to change your cats diet. Since chronic diarrhea is unpleasant for both cat and owner.

i have tried all you have suggested minka and more. I amd just tired of torturing and stressing out this poor little boy and at the moment he is a kitten and needs all the nutrients he can get,so I'm ok right now with him eating the dry. It is a high quality food BB kitten and I just want to see him eat. I' do want him on wet as i'm sure a uti will come sooner or later into this little guys life, but there is nothing I haven't tried to get him on wet,so for now I will just let him be.

Your plain for your new kitten sounds just fine. So try not to stress too much. I think your choice of dry food sounds fine. You are correct your kitten needs all the nutrition it can get.

Plus it is not worth stressing you or your kitten out cause as I have said many times the best diet is one your kitten will eat. Plus you may not enjoy your kitten to the fullest if you are always stressed out.

Lastly if your kitten drinks plenty of water, has good genetics, and have some luck
you may never have to deal with a UTI!

Again relax and enjoy your kitten.

I wouldn't stress or worry honestly. I've NEVER been able to get Maggie to eat more then a spoon full of wet in a day. And she's going to be 3 in a couple of weeks. but she is in perfect health on purina indoor forumula (the ONLY dry food she will eat....she's picky)

Maggie looks at her wet food as more of a treat and she WILL snub her nose over any and all of it if there is more then one spoonfull in her little bowl.

I've also never had a cat (all of my cats ate dry primarily) have a UTI either. But I do know cats are prone to them but I guess i've just gotten lucky and all of my kittys LOVE drinking water LOL.

I should know just by judging how much they pee

None of my personal cats past or present have ever had a UTI either. I also will say mine drink plenty of water, since I like you clean my own litter boxes

Seriously, if he's drinking plenty of water there is no need to stress over the kibble but it looks like you've found a wet he will eat
