Hi everyone,

This is my first post. And, my first cat. Anyway, my cat is about 5 months old and I noticed today that her bottom teeth are very loose. The pointy ones(sorry I don't know the right term...incisors maybe?) Anyway, I did a search and saw that cats lose their baby teeth. Is this the right time for her to start losing teeth or should I go see a Vet? She has had all her shots, is due for some more soon and she was a stray when I adopted her. I haven't spayed her yet. Thats about all the info there is on her. Thanks for any replies.

The timing does sound right for her to start getting her adult teeth. Cats usually get their adult teeth with no problems. Keep an eye on it, and I bet you'll see a new tooth here pretty soon.

And welcome to the Cat Site!

Congrats on your new kitty.
Isn't it neat the way they loose their teeth. Most of the time you wouldn't even notice. Their baby teeth are so small lots of times they just come out while eating. Not at all like us humans who have to have ours pulled out, even our baby teeth we sometimes have to have help with getting out.

All she did today was sleep. I expect she will be back to her old self in a few days. Thanks for the replys.

Same here! Glad I stumbled on this thread when I did - my kitten is 3 months old and I wouldn't have had a clue what was happening when his teeth started getting loose!

They will love to have something to chew on when they are teething. We just bought a package of those big fat plastic straws and left them strewn around the house, changing them for new ones when they got too chewed up. The cats loved them.
