Hi all - been a busy week! Sorry I haven't been around much! Just wanted to give a quick update & brag about Joni, who had her second vet visit yesterday.

#1 good news is no ear mites! The boys had them and had them and had them and I kept treating and treating and treating and finally looked like it had cleared up two days before Joni came home. Nobody has mites (or fleas!) at my house now!

She's gained a pound and a quarter since coming home July 21, and is now 4 pounds 9 oz! The vet remarked on how much softer and shinier her coat is (I'm pretty sure it's because I got her off the Meow Mix she'd been eating). He also said he has NEVER seen another cat marked like Joni. That made me really happy.
The vet tech was as confused as I was about her coat and was sure she was a tortie before turning her over and seeing that shock of white on her belly!

She was perfect for her exam and vaccinations - got a distemper booster and rabies, so we are all done with kitten shots! Once she is spayed in September or maybe October, she will be all ready to grow up! It seems so quick this time, because I got the boys at 6 weeks and they were so time-intensive right at the start. It was 4-5 weeks before they didn't want to be everywhere I was at all times. (Though they pretty much still do except during playtime.)

I love my sweetheart... all the vet techs and even the reception staff took turns coming into the exam room to hold her - she is so loving and sweet! None of the biting or "aggressiveness" my friend described. She just needed some time and attention - and two playmates hasn't hurt any!

She's still very wiggly but I'll try to get updated photos soon!
