Unusual cat names - Page 2

Well I might as well admit mine has an unusual name, Druskie Moo.

He's actually named after someone very special to me named Dru, but I made it creative and because he has cow colors he's Druskie Moo .

Eleka is named after the princess on Prince Of Persia, I get funny looks when I say what her name is too.

My friend named her cat Tonks lol.

We have a friend who's cat is named Smudge. He says it's because he looks like a smudge. To me he looks just like my Tailer.

Allen's name was originally Aslan, from the Narnia tales ('cause he's just so gorgeous, you know?). Unfortunately, I had to repeat his name over and over, and speak it SLOWLY, and no one got the reference and then one day I threw my hands up in the air and decided it just wasn't worth it. Before he was six months old, he was Allen.

Lets see...aside from members here I think my own cats names are pretty silly.

Bacon....cuz she smelled like Bacon

Crocadilly is named after Jersey Shore Snookis stuffed crocadile that I fell in love with. Yup Im addicted to Jersey Shore...lol

Tubba Wubba was named after a cartoon called Wow Wow Wubzy except she didnt look like a Wubzy and when I was singing the theme song Tubba Wubba fell into place and thats what she got.

All four cats though have another name that DF calls them since he thinks my names are stupid.
Hercules/Old Man
GiGi/Grey Cat
Crocadilly/Big Foot or Big *something else till he gets neutered now that he is finally 4 mths old*
Tubba Wubba/ Long Tail

People give me funny looks when I tell them my cat's name is Larry. It was actually my mom's suggestion when I got him. He was originally called Sylvester. It just didn't seem right. I was talking to my mom and she said, "How about Larry? I've got Curly, your brother's got Mo, we need a Larry." It seemed like such a brilliant idea, and it seemed to fit him!

Now, of course, all the people I know who are named Larry, or who have ex- or current husbands named Larry think it's just weird.

An officer I used to work with bought a brown dog named "Chocolatron." He said he just didn't have the heart to call him that, so he renamed him Choco. Not a cat name, but Chocolatron is an unusual name for anyone.

I thought Flash was unusual until I joined here and read what some cats on here were called

Sooty was meant to be called Jet but it didn't suit him that would if been different lol

There was a shelter cat some months ago, a tuxedo with a Hitler-'stache, who was named Mr Mustachio. I still think that was an awesome name.

People always said I had cats with weird names:

Sunshine (after a tool company)
Muffler
Mag
Battery
Tune-Up
Spark Plug
Turbo
Camshaft
Chassis
Caliper
Tail Pipe
(most of them were named like that because they were born/found at my dad's shop. The last 3 were adopted from shelters/vets offices but we kept the pattern going. I broke the pattern with our cats though)

and a dog named Ulli.

Before Buddy came along, we briefly had a kitten here named Paul. (Family Guy reference)

I'm fostering a young male kitty named Curtis. . .and my cousin has a cat named Steve. I don't know why I think those are funny when I have kitties named Scotty, June, Dot, and Sammy and my mom's cats are Sonja, Roxy, Savannah, and Fiona (all people names, but not funny like Curtis and Steve for some reason).

My brother has a male named Tea. Because they let the baby name him, and when she tried to say "kitty" it came out "teeee!".

That's Lucy's middle name.

My husband named his cat "Much" after the baker's son in Robin Hood. It caused a lot of confusion ("Munch?"). And given that Much was female, I always got the question of why name her after a male character.

When I was a little girl, I had a cat named Rover. We also had a cat named Bones. She got her name when my brother used to call me bones, because I was so skinny. My dad started calling him Bonehead when he called me that so he named his cat Bones.

DH and used to have a cat named One Nut. You can imagine why....

We named one of Hazel's kittens Puffin. He got that name b/c he used to get scared at every little thing and puff his furr up. Now he just mainly does it if the dogs move too fast around him, but before all you had to do was basically look at him and he would go PUFF. Ninja is kind of a weird name also. That is what we call Hazel's brother. He got that name b/c he is almost all black and he moves really fast.

I have a chicken named Fancy Pants...does that count? LOL When we first got her, her tail feathers stuck up all spiky, so one day I said to her "my, don't you have some fancy pants?" It stuck, so that is what I call her now. We used to have a roo named "Turkey Chicken". DS named him that, and yes, that is what we called him. haha We also had a roo named Goose, b/c he honked like a goose instead of clucking like a chicken.

I used to work in a vet medical lab and the most unusual cat name that I read was, MouseTrap. Very funny.

My mom's cat is named Acupuncture. Her brother's cat is Chainsaw. Growing up we had Pinkerton, Zonker and Tribble. So the names April Joy, Christopher Cody and Midnight Sun are quite normal, right?
