Unusual cat names

What's the strangest or most unusual cat name you've ever heard? My cousin had cat when we were teenagers named "Seffer" (sp). She also called him "Perseffer" or maybe it was "Purrseffer", lol.

I think Louie Da Lip is a pretty strange name for a cat, especially a cat with no bottom lip.....but don't tell him that Zabbie is also kind of a weird name when I think about it; poor guy got dubbed Pansy when the vet and I decided he was a femaile, but he never answered to that but would only come to me when I called wheresthebaby....and that morphed int Zabbie and sometimes to Zabgetouttathway.

Everyone laughs when I mentioned I have a cat named Bowser... until they see a picture of him!

I used to have a cat named Laughing Boy, and my neighbors used to have cats named Underfoot and NoName.

Then they really giggle-he's got by far the best expression on a cat that I've ever seen.

I love Bowser.

That would probably be my Imhotep. I've gotten a lot of strange looks for that one.

What a great thread! I'm loving reading about all these awesome and unusual names. Google?! Underfoot?! Bowser?! IMHOTEP?!

And here I thought I was being original by giving my cats "real" names (Allen, Rachel, etc.).

I still miss 8-Bit's mommy, Heather (lookingglass) (and stories about 8-Bit! ).

And there's Amy's (Momofmany's) Eightball.

I loved MA's cerebellar hypoplasia kitty rescues, Tilt and Whirl. Ours weren't so original - the vet staff named them Neuro and Logic. Logic's adoptive mom kept her name. We changed Neuro's name to Ming Loy (which, for quite a while she thought was "Where'sMingLoy?" ).

And Nat (white cat lover) always has great names: Chairman Squishy Meow, Fafeena, Goat-Head, Dorky Fish, ummm.... I'm sure I'm missing a lot of great foster kitty names, but I remember Bustopher, ...and of course I always loved "the Bobs": Fat Bob, Skinny Bob (who I THINK are Billy Bob and Tony Bob, but there could be four Bobs, I'm not sure. )

I like Zabgetouttatheway and Underfoot xD

Everybody tells me "What the heck kind of name is GRIMALKIN? :/" 'It's the name he had when I adopted him.' "Well why'd you Keep it???"

Also, people have a terrible time pronouncing it. xD
post #11 of 51
I like all of those names! (Can't see how they're hard to pronounce though. ).

Gary thinks Lazlo's full name is unusual: Carl Lazlo Jr.

He also thinks Chumley is unusual (but I told him I'm not sure cartoon names count! If so, then you have to include Tennessee Tuxedo, and all of Lauren's feral kitties!)

There are some unusual names out there!!

I suppose Genever is different enough- people always think I'm saying Jennifer, or they call her Je-NEE-ver, or Genevieve or Geneva (like the city). It's much better than her shelter name- Miss Boo Bear.

Let's not forget 8-Bit Wolfgang's brothers, Scratch Fury Destroyer of Worlds and Dr. D Claw. (I miss 8-Bit, too. )

Right now sis has a cat Packy; her brother was Rework (blame BIL for those). The other cat is Lucky, short for "Damn Lucky We Let You Live Here".

Oh Jan, you're right!!!!!

And at your BIL's names!

I don't know how unusual this name is, but our first rescue kitty was Booger. (And she was a booger! ).

I am a blank right now for kitty names, but my friend has a guinea pig named GP Morgan Chase!

I think Lynxx was an unusual name. All the times at the vets (and there were a lot at the end) not once did I hear them call another Lynxx into the vets office. Only once I saw the name Lynx (with 1 x) on a shelter cat. It was after Lynxx died.

My oldest cat is named "Hoot" and my youngest is named "Swiffer" Long stories on how they both got their names

There are really only two Bobs - Billy Bob & Tony Bob aka Fat Bob & Skinny Bob. (They are very vocal kitties & 'whine' a lot, so we named them after 3 brothers that farm & whine a lot about always being broke - ha! )

Bustopher was actually a shelter kitty, I don't know who came up with his name! I think it was someone working at the vet clinic?

I like to give my kitties longer, 'official' names. That way they know they're in trouble when I call them by their full name!
