I just wanted to thank all of you who provided info on introducing cats.
I got married this spring & moved into my husband's house with my 3 older cats (2 aged 9 yrs & 1 approx. 14 yrs), one of whom is VERY territorial & gets upset if I even smell like another cat (he'll hiss at my clothes!). My husband has one indoor/outdoor neutered male & 1 outdoor feral spayed female. I was really worried about them getting along.
Well, we carefully followed the directions provided by my vet, and even more useful hints in Hissy's cat site article, along with other wonderful suggestions provided here. I am thrilled to announce that it looks like the integration was successful! Not only has there not been a single fight, but Mr. Underfoot (my territorial boy) and Oreo (my husband's boy) are now playing happily together! I am SO happy!
