Oh yeah, and me too.
Hi everyone! I'm a pretty new cat owner, I adopted Ziggy from the local humane society back in January - he is my first! I'll give you a little on his background. He had a bit of an unstable kittenhood. He was initially brought into the humane society at age 1 or 2 days old. Yes, days. He was likely separated from his mother in the first day of life. They raised him in their nursery. He was fostered for a month, and then when he was old enough he was adopted out to a family. He spend 5 months with them, and they returned the poor boy to the humane society.
His first day back on the adoption floor just happened to be the day we had decided to check out the available cats. Actually, we had planned to go on a Friday evening, but by Wednesday we couldn't stand to wait any longer (we were excited, clearly) so we drove over that night. He was sleeping curled up in a bed, so on our first and second pass through the cat hallways, he didn't make our "list". Luckily the humane society was being terribly slow, so we had a long wait to meet with an adoption counselor. In the meantime, a little black cat with orange eyes woke up on the other side of the window we happened to be standing by. And well, you can guess how the rest goes!
I got him at 8 months, and he is a little over a year old now, and he is rambunctious, hilarious, and just a pretty great little cat so far. He has taught me an enormous amount about feline behavior, but it would be great to bounce ideas off of other more experienced owners.
Thanks in advance everyone!
