I have a 13 week old male kitten and I need to know how much wet/dry food he should be eating a day? All of a sudden the past few days he has hardly been touching his food and turning his nose up at everything! He will eat very little or just lick his food. I've tried tune juice, chicken broth different brands and he just isn't eating what he was a few days ago and I'm really worried. Is he just no hungary or what? He gets fed around 9:30pm and will eat just a tiny bit or lick the broth and so I expect him to be hungry in the morning, but he will turn his nose up at it and maybe 20 min. later will eat bout a tsp and be done... is he being stubborn or should i get him to a vet.... he will get a bit of food before i go to work at 8:30am and then won't get fed for 7 hrs till hubby gets home at 3pm but once again just turns his nose up at it or lick very little. I try again at 6pm when i get home but same thing. then again at 9:30pm but same thing. He has had his shots and deworming meds, he is active, poops and pees and does drink water....What is going on, I'm ready to cry cuz im so worried....

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

If you check the food, it should have a feeding suggestion so you know if you're ballpark.
Is he congested? Kitties often won't eat what they can't smell. Usually kittens are big eaters, so I'd have em checked out just in case if its not close to what he should be eating. For now, if you put the food on your finger, they'll usually lick it off even if not hungry.

You could try mixing a couple of teaspoons of warm water into the canned food, too. It'll smell stronger and may make it more appetizing. (I also listed some tips in one of your other threads.)
Since this is an abrupt change, it might not hurt to bring your boy to the vet, Cyndersmom, especially since he hasn't been eating much for a few days now and he's such a very young kitten. Any kind of an obstruction would cause the kitty to go off his food, and finding those sooner rather than later is better. As Ducman mentions, too, he might have something affecting his ability to smell which might also need a vet's care.
As for how much and how often, as much as the kitty can eat, no less than four times a day should be the minimum.

Oh, honey.... It's a big jump to go from not eating to having to put your little friend down. Take a deep breath and try not to think the worst, it could be so many things. Hand in there!!

Come back afterward and let us know what the vet says, ok?
