Door opening culprit

The last few days when I got home from work or got up in the morning, the guest bathroom door has been open. I keep it closed now because Nero likes to get in touch with his inner dog and drink from the toilet. I've been wondering why Rob has been leaving it open - naturally assuming it was him because it's just the two of us and the cats that live there!

I keep the fosters in their own room at night, so they don't get into things and I can't keep my eye on them. Last night, I gave them their food, cleaned their box, gave each a spoonful of pumpkin, tossed Nero out of their room, and closed the door before going to bed. This morning, Rob gets up and I hear him say "That's weird." I open my eyes, and he points at one of the kittens laying next to Neko! Then the other kitten walks into the room!

We have found our bathroom door culprit ... NEKO! He knows how to open doors, and apparently it's been him opening the bathroom door, and he opened the kitten's door last night too. That cat keeps me laughing for sure.

I also will give one of the kittens some props - although the litter box was a foot away and cleaned, one of them took some newspaper from our recyclable pile, put it on the floor, pooped on it, and put another piece of newspaper over the top to cover it.

And what is more funny is you say that one of the kittens was snuggling next to Neko . Boy the kittens must love Neko. And obviously, Neko returns the affections. Cute story and I am so glad to hear the kittens are doing so well

I feel bad I'm bringing them both to Petsmart today to be shown in the display for adoption - they both adore Neko. He's like their "big brother".

And apparently "big brother" is being disobedient and letting his "little brothers" out at night

Haha, that's a great story. Please tell me you have door handles as opposed to door knobs? You *have* to set up a video camera and catch this on tape

Good luck with the adoptions, it's gotta be hard for you and Neko

Yesterday after work while reading in bed, Neko opened the bathroom door again, then came to tell me I heard him trying to open the master bath door around 4am when Rob had gotten up to get a drink of water and make a pit stop on the way back to bed too.

He must be practicing for something!

That is so cute

That's hilarious!

Dorothy has figured out that doorknobs are what open doors, but she hasn't been able to turn one yet. She snuck out the front one time when I didn't close it right when I went out to water the flowers, and since then she's been jumping up to grab the doorknob. Luckily we always keep the front door locked and bolted (we almost always use the back door), or she'd be outta here!

Don't feel bad please (I know it is hard not to), you have done something wonderful for these little ones and I am sure they will adopted quickly. Vibes for the little ones
