Foster Trixie & Newborns

Trixie came to us on Saturday. She went into labor at the shelter and already had 3 kittens before we got to her, one of which didn't make it. ( We brought her home & got her and her babies settled. I knew she had more in her, as I could see her belly moving and she was still fairly large. Then early Sunday afternoon, almost 24 hours later, she gave birth to 2 more kittens, and once again one of them was stillborn.
Thankfully though, Trixie has 3 beautiful kittens who are nursing well and seem to be doing fine. She is a bit snuffly though and doesn't want to clean them, so I've been having to stimulate them and wipe them down every couple of hours or they get covered in pee and poo. Trixie obviously loves them though, as she is very attentive to them, and doesn't leave them at all for long.
We have a torbie female named Trudy, a grey tabby female named Talia and an orange tabby male named Tully. Please send lots of vibes for this little family!

Awww! She looks like a baby herself! No wonder she doesn't know what to do with her kittens.

Lots of vibes that the 3 thrive and continue to do well!

She is SUPER skinny, was nothing but belly. Also with the slight URI, she hasn't been eating much but she DID inhale a bunch of treats earlier, which is better than nothing. I've been giving her lots of variety. The babies latch right on to her no problem though, so that's good.

What a pretty girl and adorable babies. She does look so little to have them - I can only imagine how much belly she had since those re not small kittens. I'm glad she has you to look out for her now. Lots of good coming for the little family.

What precious little ones! Can't wait to see their little faces! And Trixie is just so pretty, too. But she does look very young herself. Poor thing.

Sometimes it breaks my heart when I think about kittens having kittens. It's so sad to realize that they never really have a chance to BE kittens themselves. When we got Whisper into the house (15 years ago), she had her last litter. And after they were born, she was a perfect mama. She was only around 2 years old herself, though, and she had had four litters that we knew of. She never really had a chance to enjoy kittenhood and all the playing and learning that kittens do; she was pregnant at a very, very young age. After her last litter was born, she finally had her chance to play with her kittens and with Banshee and to have fun. She's 17 now and we made sure she had lots of fun with us.

Lots of for these babies and for their mama, too.

Aw Kailie, there's no one better to help a young mum and her babies.

They are precious. But it is heartbreaking to see a kitten with kittens.

for all!

I totally agree, there IS no place better for Trixie and her kits than with you . Beautiful little names too that you picked out for the kittens. Sending Trixie many vibes today so she feels better soon and stays strong for her kittens

And tons of grateful to you and Dana for what you do for all of the cats and kittens

I've been so out of the loop lately that I didn't know you had a whole slew of new fosters. And, I've just now read about Trixie and her babies. How wonderful that they have the opportunity to be fostered by you and Dana. There's no doubt that you'll help them nurture and grow until they're able to be adopted into loving homes.

As for how precious they all are, well, that's a given. Trixie is a little darling. She doesn't even look old enough to have kittens of her own (of course, we all know how that goes). And, while she does appear to be a very loving mommy to her babies, it's sad that she has to mother a litter when so young. And, how sad about her stillborns, but Trudy, Talia, and Tully are all adorable. I love how, in the first photo, Trixie looks as though she is smiling while nursing them. With such a lovely mom, there's no doubt that they will all grow up to be cuties in their own right.

I look forward to watching this litter grow along with their mama, Trixie. Thank you for taking these babies in and giving them a safe place to grow up. You're truly an angel to kitties in need. And, Trixie and her three little ones are just another example of how love and willingness can go a long way in saving lives...

How precious! Trixie and her babies could almost be twins to my Goldy and her babies. Goldy came to me as a pregnant kitten three years ago.
