Hello, I'm also from BC, we're kind of neighbors! We own 5 cats, Tequilla a 17 yr old tabby, Lulu a 16 year old white and calico, Oskar a 11 year old calico, Willow a 6 year old black and white long haired, and Buddy a 3 year old (we think) smokey grey guy. I came here when we trapped him and brought him into the non wild world!!
In the mix are also 4 dogs 3 large, over 100lbs each and just to keep us all our toes a jack russell!!
Our cats don't really venture out much, we live in the country but they don't have alot of street smarts so to speak.
Love the name and spelling of your new addition. We did the same as you years ago with one of our kittens, thought it was a girl and named her Lucy, only to discover Lucy was a boy! He stayed Lucy, sort of like a boy named Sue!

Funny...we always called our Wickett our "Cinder Block Cat." Color, weight, shape, and intelligence of a cinder block.

lol too funny he is very sweet and so far seems intelligent but that could change. he loves us to bits. last night was the first night we left the door to the bedroom open and he played till bout 11 then curled up inbetween my legs and slept till 5am when he usually gets fed by dad, he rarley sleeps on his own,he likes to curl up on me or dad on the "HAMMOCK" which is a blanket over our legs in a chair, and then you spread your legs apart to form the hammock with the blanket. lol great to meet all of you

My cat Anubis used to be named Jade..after a character in a Jackie Chan animated TV series. That got cghanged to Anubis after we realized she was...a he. Other kittenhood nicknames were 'stinky' cause he smelled bad, and 'chewbacca' due to his chewing habits.
