A very strong wind hit the stage just minutes before the Sugarland concert. It crumbled to the ground, killing 4 people and injuring 40.
Please send vibes....
My friend went to that concert and now I can't find her.
Please send vibes....
Thanks---cheryl

Nuh uh...might give me away!
Cheryl - Because of the volume of calls going in and out of the city last night, a LOT of people couldn't get through. Prayers that your friend is OK and that it was only an issue of cell service being disrupted.

Friend of mine's dad was there as well, and it took him two hours to finally get a hold of him.

And in case anyone was interested, this happened in Indianapolis, IN at the State Fairgrounds. The video of the collapse was horrific.

This happened here at Bluesfest as well this year, thankfully nobody was killed but there were injuries. Cheap Trick had been on the stage just seconds before. (Literally)

Scary stuff. I hope your friend is okay!

Here are the names of the fatalities (five now):

The victims were identified by the Marion County coroner's office as Tammy Vandam, 42, of Wanatah; Glenn Goodrich, 49, of Indianapolis; Alina Bigjohny, 23, of Fort Wayne; Christina Santiago, 29, of Chicago; and Nathan Byrd, 51, of Indianapolis, who died overnight.

I pray that your friend is not among them, and for the loved ones of those that are.

I saw this on the news here in Toronto last night. What a tragedy. Hope your friend is not among those 5 reported dead.

I saw this in the papers yesterday. My ex was there since Sugarland is his favorite band. He's OK, saw his posting on FB.

I hope your friend is OK, and vibes to all.

My friend is OK. Thanks for your prayers and vibes. She hadn't made it to her seat at the concert yet because she was getting something to eat.

When the stage collapse she was one of hundreds of people who rushed in to try to lift the structure off of the victims beneath it. She drove four of the people with minor injuries to the hospital--then went back and picked up three more.
She said she just lost track of time and didn't call anyone to let them know she was okay. I'm very very proud of her.!!!

I'm glad your friend is OK. My sympathies are with the families of the people who were hurt and killed in the accident.

I have an acquaintance who was out in his hot rod (open car, no top) when the wind suddenly came up. He was caught in the rain and sat for over half an hour, getting soaked, when the traffic was stopped all around the fairgrounds. He had no idea what was going on until he got home.

He said he was pretty unhappy about getting wet, until he found out what had happened, and then he said his priorities pretty quickly got rearranged.

I saw this on the news yesterday, just tragic. I am very glad to hear your friend is alright. And she sounds like a hero helping those people back and forth to the hospital like that.
