The adoption fair today!

So as most of you know, the shelter that I foster for had an adoption fair today! Just wanted to let you all know that it went VERY well! 21 cats and kittens found their forever homes today, 5 of which were my fosters! My mama Penny, Shea, Betsy, Jewel & Loonie all went home! Still have my foster boys though, but their time will come. I was really, really happy because some adult cats went home today who have been at the shelter for MONTHS! So with the 21 from today, and the 24 adopted last weekend, we've been doing a great job at trying to make some room at the shelter.

Unfortunately it is a revolving door. At the fair today I was saying that we had an empty room now where the girls were all adopted and the manager told me about a pregnant mom they had they would like me to foster. We went right to the shelter after the fair and the mom was in labor and already had 3 kittens, one of which didn't make it. The mama, who is orange and we named Trixie, was a little unsure at first and needed some help, but the 2 she has now are now nursing and looking great. There is a grey tabby and a torbie, both girls and I know there are still more kittens to come as she is still quite big and contracting. Stay tuned!

Thank you all!

Just an update on mama Trixie: This afternoon, almost 24 hours after her first 3 kittens were born, Trixie gave birth to 2 more kittens. One, a grey tabby, unfortunately was stillborn , however the other, a beautiful orange tabby who looks just like it's mom, is now happily nursing away with it's 2 sisters. Hopefully poor Trixie is now done.

Oh Kailie! Just caught this thread and was thinking of you and the adoption fair this weekend. I am beyond happy to hear this news. That is a fantastic turnover and I am thrilled also that five of your fosters got homes. Boy, you and Dana certainly are very, very special cat saviors. I hope Trixie is doing well after giving birth and can't wait to see some pictures
