I bought a Nintendo 3DS earlier.. with the trade in deal they had which is trade in your old DSi, get the 3DS for $99, and traded in 3 Wii games I no longer played, I got the system AND Zelda for $54
. the trade in system is for this weekend only with Pro Members.

I tried it for the very first time, and wow, the 3D is better than I expected! I am impressed with the AR Games with the cards (I can see room for improvement, but for a first generation, its great!)

I didn't get a chance to play Zelda yet. I snuck some time in at work to check out the system, its camera and a game with the cards. lol. I won't get to check out Zelda until after the psychic show tonight.

Anyone play with the 3DS? If so, what games do you have/recommend?

That sounds cool! I only have the DS too...

Which brings me to this question (sorry to sort of hijack the thread), if anyone reading here has Animal Crossing for their DS, I would love to find some friends to visit! Nobody I know IRL with a DS plays...

I miss my DS
its currently in many pieces in our office. I had a piece break on the inside of it and we tried to get a new case and hinge and everything but when we put it back together something wasnt right
Oh well. I dunno how much I would play the 3Ds. 3d stuff hurts my eyes, but I may play with a friends sometime and try to decide!

Wow, I'm surprised. You are the first person I know who likes it

My boys have the DS, DSi's and now they all each have a DSi XL.
I have 2 friends that work at Zellers (kinda like WalMart but it's Canadian) and one of them works in the electronic section and she said pretty much every one they sell, it comes back....nobody likes them.

My 10 year old wanted one soooooo bad until his best friend got one and he hated it so they took it back and got an XL instead. I read some reviews online when they first came out and the reviews were awful...

I just checked the reviews again (it's been mths) and the reviews are all pretty good now....hmmmmm interesting....maybe Santa will have to give the boys one to try out, haha

Last night I got to play Zelda. The 3D was hard to keep in "focus".. maybe that's why a lot of people didn't like it? You have to hold the system a certain distance and keep it still or the 3D will become doubled and hard to look at. I did turn off the 3D after a while, lol.

I tried the 3DS but I didn't really like it so I returned it. The 3D was great, but it just drained the battery way too fast. It would be really good if you play it when you near an outlet so you can plug it in, but for me that kind of defeats the purpose of having it. It's a portable game system. If you have to be tethered to a wall to play for more than 2 hours, it's no longer portable. I'm fine with my basic DS.

I've been thinking of getting one since my DSi's screen is worn out. I'm not so keen on the 3D feature, it does seem difficult to see the screen correctly on the demos in stores. I don't like my husband's DSi XL, it's too big to slip into a pocket. I am looking forward to Skyward Sword!
