Urine..

How much should a 12 week old kitten pee a day. My boy cynder is on all wet food diet, but does not drink any other water. He seems to pee about 2-3 times a day with medium size clumps in the litter. i know i am probably over reacting but I have not dealt with a kitten for 15 yrs and forget whats normal. He is the love of my life as i found out recently that i cannot have kids,so bringing this little guy into my life has been a godsend and he is my "son". I will do anything for this little guy. I hope someone can answear this for me and put my mind at ease.

chances are that since his diet is wet foods, he is getting enough water through that, he probably doesn't feel thirsty enough to drink more. As far as his output goes, as long as he is going he is also probably fine. If you feel he might be a but dehydrated, you can do the pinch test, pinch a bit of skin at the back of his neck, if it falls back down quickly he is just fine, if it sticks up or doesn't return to his neck than he is dehydrated. I am guessing Cynder is just fine

An all-canned-food diet provides more than enough water for a cat, and most cats I know who eat all canned food don't drink any water (or just a little bit). And it's amazing how much they can pee! But that's what's good about all canned food. . .it keep them flushed out. Everything sounds normal to me!
