Last summer my cat came tearing into the house from the patio with her skin rippling on her back and chasing invisible bugs. Vet thought it could be feline hyperesthesia but didn't do anything for her. It went away in a few months.

This week it happened again. She is hanging out in my closet. When she comes out to eat it it will happen again (esp. If the 1yr old cat chases her).

My only thought is that it is an issue with the food she is eating. She has has many different foods in her life but recently was eating Fromm chicken and rice. I got Nutro Senior for my male 17 yr old and then the younger cat and my girl cat started to eat this too. within a week she was having mucus in her stool and loose stool. So we picked up Royal Canin special 33. Within a week of that food was when the twitching started up again.

They both have wheat and beet pulp in them. Maybe she is allergic to that? I recall she did have RC last summer too.

I tried Innova cat and kitten and she had diarrhea from this.

Researching FHS I read that potato, tomato, cranberry, blueberry, yucca, rosemary are all suspect in contributing to FHS. Almost all foods that are free from wheat seem to have the "natural" ingredients!!!!

So what can I feed her? The vet will tell me Science Diet of course. But even that had rosemary as a preservative.
I was looking at California Naturals?
