Today has been a beautiful day--first time in over a month I got to turn off the air conditioning and open all the windows. Much to Turtle's delight!!!
The winds have been extremely gusty. At times over 50 miles/hour.
I came home from work, kicked off my shoes; where's Turtle? Not here to greet me? What did I do wrong??
I went into the living room, calling her name. I heard one of her little squeaks, turned around and saw her out on the damn roof????
The wind must have popped out my screen and there she was, having a grand old time!! And my roof slants pretty sharply, she could have just slid right off to the pavement below!! I think this another wonderful reason not to declaw your cats!!!
She pulled herself back through the window and is completely fine. I, however, just lost 10 years off my life.
"Turtle, I know you have 9 lives, but mama's only got one so stop trying to scare me to death!!"

Yikes!!
I thought this was going to be a story of her hiding like Dorothy was yesterday (and today).. but wow! Definitely a scary sight, I'm sure. Glad she's ok and back inside safely with her meowmy.

I think my heart would've stopped for a few seconds!!! It sounds like it's time to look into reinforcing the screens somehow. One tip (from Mary Anne/hissy) is to cut a trellis to size and put it in over the screen.

Oh, I'm so glad Turtle's OK!!! This reminds me of one night in my condo and we were having a heck of a blizzard. I opened the screen door to my balcony so I could take a couple of pictures, after a minute I looked down and saw that Holland had joined me on the patio.
I lived on the third floor and there was a big tree right next to my balcony... very scary to think it would only take a second for Holland to have jumped off the balcony to the tree, or worse, fallen off...

Oh wow, I'm so glad Turtle is ok. Thank goodness for her claws, they may have saved her from harm or worse.
