It's been a while, so I'm posting some new pictures of Zeus and Athena. It doesn't look like the people we had in mind for the adoption are going to come through, so we're going to have to work on a second plan. In the meantime, I don't mind enjoying the cuteness running around her apartment.
They'll be about 12 weeks old on Wednesday.

Here's Zeus:

And Athena:

Waiting expectantly while mom thaws out some shrimp

And their patience was rewarded. Zeus loved it. Athena thought it was OK. Zeus would growl if anybody got close while he was eating his piece. It's so funny to hear a little kitten growling.

I think they got bored of being photographed.

Last one. Athena likes to crawl up on the back of the chair and play with my hair. I usually can't stand it for long because it tickles so much, but I managed to hang on until Susan could snap a photo.

Look at those ears! I just love kitten ears! Those pretty little babies have some growing to do to fit those ears! They're just adorable!

When Ophelia came into our home (her only option, not her choice - trapped between the walls of our apartment building as a 6 week old feral kitten) she was like that with all of her food. Regular kibble, treats, stolen people food...didn't matter. If it went in her mouth she growled to protect it.
Utterly adorable! She thought she was so fierce.

Then she figured out that food was always there for her and it was OK if her "brother" Trent ate with her too. The treats elicited growls for quite a while, though.

Yes, those ears are giant, aren't they? They make them look very exotic. And Athena gives a great scalp massage. People pay big money for that kind of thing in spas.
