Will be arriving in my house in a few hrs, 2 different litters, but 9 in total. About or almost 3 weeks old...man I'm gonna be busy...Happily busy though
these babies are older than first thought. They were lied about to our director in order to get them out of the place that houses them for 3 days minimum, than after their 3 days are up they get euthanized. All 9 babies, 3 girls 6 boys, are eating on their own, have their canines. Because of this I will be keeping only the 4 smallest ones as I strictly do bottle feeders. But they will be until we find a foster home for 5 very hyper active kittens.
What I don't understand is that Hamilton just built this awesome facility for their SPCA, spent millions on it, but yet only made space for 22 cats....the rest are for offices, dogs, visitation rooms, other animals, vet space etc etc...thats mental. With all the cats and kittens that need placing they create only 22???
The animal control where TCR (and other registered rescues) got these 9 rescues from does NOT adopt to the public, rescues are called to save what they can. After the 72 hrs hold what is left is put down. If they would open to the public the numbers would go down, but the spca has forbidden it, they do not want competition with their abilities to adopt out. It's so sad and it makes me so angry and so sad.....TCR had to leave behind 3 litters b/c none of our foster homes have any space. If I had money man......
Wow I've never heard of an animal control that doesn't adopt out to the public.
I love kittens! I wish I could be a foster home for kittens but I ended up keeping 4 out of the last litter I bottle-raised (litter of 7 feral kittens found in my yard.)
