I have a litter of feral kittens I'm taming to adopt out. They are doing well but a few of them have big round bellies, despite several rounds of deworming (Strongid, Revolution, Drontal). While it's certainly possible they just have really bad cases of worms from being outside, could this be anything else that can be treated? They are very healthy otherwise, pooping well, etc. All have tested neg for FIV/Felv. I don't think it's anything besides gas bloating, but I'm not sure what to do to help.

AW thanks for rescuing those kittens
. How old are they? I would check a stool sample. Wait at least two weeks past the last dosing of deworming you did. Or it could be they are little piggies as some kittens do get that bloated belly after eating and drinking.
. But I would double check the stools to make sure they are worm-free.

they are around 10-12 weeks. it's true about the bellies after they eat! i have to check them before i feed because they gorge and it shows! it's hard to wait for 2 weeks to re-treat but they don't seem bothered by the bloat.

here they are, you can't really see the bellies here but you get the idea!

I' just going to tell you what my vet told me to do. He told me that if their bellies looked bloated after deworming, to give them half a cc of Milk of magnesia. I did it and it worked.

But, I'm not telling you to do that, that is what he told me to do. I have no idea if that is the right thing to do.

I hope their bellies get better

AWW are they so sweet and how nice of you to be doing what you are for them. And I can see part of the kitten's belly in the bottom right corner. I have heard of the Milk of Magnesia also that Momto4kitties mentioned. We use that at the shelter as well. Good suggestion
. Keep us updated!
