So this morning I'm not sure what I went outside for and there was another stray cat in the garage. It ran out right away.

We saw it a few more times this morning.

It looks like a longish hair calico.

Bad news is that it walks/runs really odd like it is leaning towards the left.
It perhaps was hit buy a car??

Now what do I do if I spot it again.

Because the other stray (Chirpy) is in the garage we have food out there so this cannot be the first time its been in the garage. (this is one reason I don't like food there because of the potential to bring in other animals).

I don't know how far you're willing to go for these kitties, but we bought a trap and we just trap them and get all of them spayed/neutered and medical attention when needed.
We provide food, water and shelter, and just care for the colony. We work to get strays and kittens (when they happen, thankfully none this year) adopted out, and a foster network helps us when they can.

If we lived in a suburban area, we'd probably put up posters to make sure strays weren't lost cats and put out posters at local area vets.

I plan on getting Chirpy Boy fixed up and into the house, but I don't know if I see this new one-the survival rate since it appears it was seriously injured.

This time of year the possums/raccoons are coming out and going into the cornfields that is why we don't like having food out in the garage. I should probably just put it out at certain times.

Plus I heard the evil neighbor discharging guns so that means some animal is moving around and its never a good sign to hear him shooting.

I will go over to other neighbor and mention this new cat.

We always attract wildlife if we just put food out and leave it out. We have to put it out kind of late in the morning at this point - I put it out after I feed the indoor kitties at 8:30, and I pick it up at about 8:00pm (during the summer).

I am not surprised to hear this though. It seems the "stray" cats know where the nice cat ladies live and where the reliable food source is located. I don't leave food out past 8 p.m. either. Raccoons and opossums arrive about 9 p.m. The cats have to learn to eat the good meal in the morning hours (i.e. wet food
).

I do the same as Laurie. Just start trapping and getting them TNRd. Otherwise, you will have kittens soon and just more cats to feed and trap
. Good luck Gail. I hope this girl isn't too injured
